The new account "JackSparrow1984" has performed a number of deletions which will be reverted. Creating sock puppet accounts in order to circumvent our moderation mechanisms is against our rules. The account has also added access=private to a number of ways which I will not revert because it at least demonstrates a level of understanding. The local community is encouraged to verify the claims of private access though.

Dear medic12, none of the seven points you are making above is sufficient reason to delete paths from OSM. We *only* delete paths that don't exist (and we would want more proof of that than the word of a land owner). Paths that exist but are not open for public use must receive proper "access" tags, as you have been told multiple times when you attempted the same changes in September last year.

Please email us at data@osmfoundation.org and include the correspondence you claim to have had with the "OSM legal team" so that we can review the situation. Until then, your edits are reverted.

Hello Tim10101010101, you can hit the "Q" key after mapping a building in ID to make it rectangular (provided of course that the imagery suggests it is).

Dear Mayan Anastasya, thank you for your contributions to OpenStreetMap. You do not have to upload every single building - simply create 10 or 20 and then upload them all togehter. In the "changeset comment" field, enter a human-readable description of your edit (e.g. "added buildings in NAME_OF_CITY"). Do not write "ok", it makes no sense.

For the building name, only fill that field if the building has a NAME (for example "World Trade Center"). Do not but a description or the purpose of a building in the name tag. If something is already tagged as a building, don't add "Rumah" as the name - it is already clear.

Dear pduriancikova, you have downgraded Anguilla to admin_level 3 in this changeset without giving a reason or discussing this with others beforehand. I am reverting this edit, as well as others you made on the same day without a reason ("fix of admin_level" is not a sufficient reason). Please discuss these changes on the forum before you act.

Dear Harshavardhan02156, in this changeset you have removed a lot of detailed residential areas and replaced them with much more coarsely drawn versions that are less accurate. Please don't do that. I will revert this edit.

When you add new residential areas you can choose how precise you want to be, and drawing a coarse area is ok, but it is NOT ok to remove an area that someone else has drawn with great attention to detail and replace it with a lesser quality one.

Also, in your changeset comments, please use a good description of your edits, not "Updated" - that is a description that fits 99% of all edits made in OSM. See osm.wiki/Good_changeset_comments for an in-depth explanation.

Also, osm.org/way/1335793580 overlaps with another building drawn 6 years ago, and osm.org/way/1335790990 overlaps with another building drawn by someone else with the "#istm2024" hashtag.

159344195 9 months ago

Dear user gbczr, please use human-readable messages in your changeset comments. "#istm2024, bing" is not sufficient. Please see osm.wiki/Good_changeset_comments for an explanation why this is important.

Also, it would be great if you could reduce your mapping speed and instead produce better quality data. For example, the "building" osm.org/way/1335790283 that you have added is three separate buildings in reality. And building osm.org/way/1335789624 overlaps with two other buildings that were drawn over a day earlier!

Dear Sinem Yazgı, thank you for your contributions to OpenStreetMap. Please choose a better changeset description than "önemli değişiklikler". See osm.wiki/Good_changeset_comments for more information. Also, please specify your data source when adding data. You have added POIs over a large part of Turkey which makes it implausible that you have personally surveyed the shops. Since copying from other maps (Google etc.) is not allowed, it is important for us to know where the information comes from.

Dear ikndrv, welcome to OpenStreetMap. The "changeset comment" field is intended for a human-readable description of your edits. "istm-2024 buturlinovka red" is insider code that most OSM participants will not understand. Please write a short description of the edit, and if you are taking part in an organised editing activity, please observe the rules at https://osmfoundation.org/wiki/Organised_Editing_Guidelines

Dear aftab_ahmed, thank you for your contributions to OSM. Please understand that we use upper and lower case letters for English words, i.e. "Sonari Tea Estate", not "SONARI TEA ESTATE". Also, please do not use the "name" field for generic descriptions. "Sonaria Tea Estate" is a plausible name, but "HOUSES" is certainly not a name. The area osm.org/way/1223811935 was already correctly recorded as "residential landuse". Your addition of the name "HOUSES" was not necessary (and wrong). Same with many other objects - osm.org/way/1334979922 is already a building because of the "building" tag, the name BUILDING is wrong. The editor has made you aware of these "generic naming" issues but you have chosen to ignore the warning and save anyway. Please observe these warnings in the future.

A large proportion of your edits consists in entirely deleting work done by Kaart people years ago, and replacing it with your own. If at all possible, if would preferable if you could modify existing objects, thus retaining the edit history, instead of deleting and re-drawing them.

Can you explain what was "false" about the paths you removed in this change? Only 2 months earlier you had recorded the surface of some paths e.g. osm.org/way/359440316 - so you must have either seen them on aerial imagery or you must have been there in person 2 months ago and confirmed that the path exists; now suddenly it is "false"?

Dear Marcus, when uploading data to OSM, please specify a human-readable changeset comment. The Hashtag "#GWUGeog" is meaninless to all but a few insiders; it belongs in the "hashtags" field and not in the changeset comment. The changeset comment must be something that explains your edit to an uninitiated person - e.g. "mapped buildings in XY"

159128734 9 months ago

You have deleted more than 50 objects in this changeset. Can you explain why? This link shows the deleted objects https://overpass-api.de/achavi/?changeset=159128734 - please explain your reasons, otherwise I will have to revert this and similar edits.

Dear bvank, thank you for you contributions to OSM. When you upload a change, please provide a human-readable description of what the edit was about. We don't want hashtags in the description - they can go in the "hashtags" field. The description should read like "mapped buildings in PLACENAME" or something like that. See osm.wiki/Good_changeset_comments for more on this.

Also, when you create a building, do not use the "name" field to describe what the building is! If you want to map a greenhouse, search for greenhouse in the presets and choose the appropriate category; the "name" is only for cases where the building does indeed have a name (like "Tom's Happy All-Year Tomatoes" or whatever). See osm.wiki/Names#Name_is_the_name_only for more on the "name" field.
