155103308 | 12 months ago | Thank-you for the typo fix. I'm massively dyslexic and neither ID or JOSM supports spell checking, and I can check 3 times if what i have written is similar to what is signposted, but I can only type the same thing 50 times before it becomes word custard :) |
155096097 | 12 months ago | Hospital is not written on the sign, this is done with symbols instead. e.g. if there was a sign with the train station symbol, you wouldn't also write "train station" just use the "destination:symbol=hospital" There is currently no A&E symbol on the wiki, just hospital |
138514004 | 12 months ago | Hello, as you have put a lot of effort into creating this changeset, what are your thoughts on modifying / removing the proposed layout for Stonehenge tunnel after the recent news they have cancelled the project: https://www.theconstructionindex.co.uk/news/view/stonehenge-tunnel-cancelled Or Is it a bit too soon to modify it? I would hope other parts of the plan still go ahead? Many thanks! |

148123034 | over 1 year ago | OK, it seems the mailing list still cannot decide though. legality vs safety over human life, i think safety comes first. In terms of law, no there is nothing stopping you from walking on that section of road (other than Darwins law). I will remove this tag, but i believe we should map what is there. Legal definition is not a tangible thing, a 4 lane 60mph roundabout is a thing, and I believe it is not safe for any person to be there, legal or not. As all 3 routers are currently routing just fine around that roundabout, it should be safe to remove them. |
148123034 | over 1 year ago | And as others have said at similar locations, the practicality of tagging as foot=no far outweighs the legality of it. If you feel legality outweighs practicality and safety, and that potentially tagging roads as foot=no to direct traffic to the designated footpaths is similar to "mapping for the render" (the render being navigation in this case) then I will revert the changes. However to me, this is a map which is used to navigate, and it being able to generate unsafe navigation when a safe alternative is provided should be its primary function. |
148123034 | over 1 year ago | Its a 4 lane roundabout, You would be a moron if you wanted to walk there. My understanding is all of central MK pedestrians are not allowed on roads, with signs such as this being common: https://www.reddit.com/r/fuckcars/comments/s1pehz/this_sign_in_central_milton_keynes_in_the_uk_a/ I would call that legal access is denied for foot traffic. |
147035305 | over 1 year ago | Are you sure this is called Poopies road, and not Poppies road? ;D Do you know how much of the buildings site has been opened up now? its been a few months since i have been there, and they were starting to put the front doors on some of the houses? |
129596541 | over 2 years ago | Amazing to see what has sprung up in that area since the last time I visited! |
118965674 | about 3 years ago | Thanks for this, I never realised that there was a difference between "Building=terrace" vs "building=house + house=terrace". Its very confusing, as pretty much every other building in OSM is exactly what it says, without some overcomplicated tagging acrobatics. e.g. a semi detached house is "building=semidetached_house", and a detached house is "building = detached", "building=shop" (even if its a row of shops), not some over complicated system that OSM seems to have chosen for terrace properties.... I will make sure any new additions i make use this method, even though I do not agree with it, though it will be difficult for me to manually update all the exiting "building=terrace" properties. Many thanks,

119082271 | about 3 years ago | Great work on making the Weetabix factory look a little bit more like what it actually looks like! |
