147647556 | over 1 year ago | I'm not sure highway=pedestrian is appropriate on bike path outlines such as osm.org/way/1124504884 given that pedestrians are prohibited on the bike path. (See https://www.mapillary.com/app/?pKey=367516585509083) |
147146924 | over 1 year ago | I believe a couple of the roads you tagged as highway=busway are not actually busways. For example, Commercial Street is signed as a pedestrian zone, and this case is covered in osm.wiki/Tag:highway=busway#Similar_infrastructure under "Transit Mall" |
147093751 | over 1 year ago | The approved proposal for highway busway differentiates busways from bus only service roads. The latter is used for the access ways to a bus station. See osm.wiki/Tag:highway%3Dbusway#Similar_infrastructure. |
146299467 | over 1 year ago | Now that I look into it a bit more, there appears to be two historic districts, and I mapped the one from the NRHP, and you mapped the one from the Milwaukee government. The Local one is more "real" in that it actually defines preservation guidelines, while the NRHP doesn't define very much, and is (as far as I can tell) "little more than recognition by the government that the resource is worthy of preservation." The Wikipedia article was helpful: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Historic_districts_in_the_United_States |
145079753 | over 1 year ago | Hello, Busways (as they were voted on in the busway proposal) specifically excluded ways for accessing a bus station from the definition of highway=busway. See osm.wiki/Tag:highway%3Dbusway#Similar_infrastructure for more detail. (Do note however that the entire extent of the busway proposal has not been translated into the French version of the wiki article) Best,
|
146299467 | over 1 year ago | Do you know what relationship this has to the already existing East Side Commercial Historic District? See osm.org/way/1157701337 (The boundary of that I drew based on the NRHP document). They might be different things (i.e a NRHP historic district vs something like a business improvement district) |
145208698 | over 1 year ago | For better or worse, the community voted that the separate value (highway=busway) should be used for BRT corridors as they are distinct from service roads (and BRT corridors don't meet the definition of highway=service). See the proposal for details of why this distinction was made: osm.wiki/Proposal:Tag:highway%3Dbusway Bus station access roads were specifically excluded from this (when they are not part of a BRT corridor) as they can meet the definition of a service road (access to a property). |
145863057 | over 1 year ago | Oops, fix it now, thanks for catching that! |
145305968 | over 1 year ago | I think they should be highway=footway, highway=living_street implies it is still constructed as a street imo, whereas these are simply named footpaths |
145208698 | over 1 year ago | Not all bus-only roads are automatically highway=busway. See osm.wiki/Tag:highway=busway#Similar_infrastructure - "Any section of bus-only roadway that only leads into a bus station should be tagged with highway=service + access=no + bus=designated." |
135602745 | over 1 year ago | It was brought to my attention that you changed the classification of the Main street Station bus access roads to highway=busway, and then later I reverted them back to highway=service. I believe that highway=service is the correct tag given the caveat given at osm.wiki/Tag:highway%3Dbusway#Similar_infrastructure : "Any section of bus-only roadway that only leads into a bus station should be tagged with highway=service + access=no + bus=designated." Does that seem right to you? |
143672545 | over 1 year ago | I believe the "Busway" name is somewhat of a misnomer, it's not used by public transit. |
144790551 | over 1 year ago | I mostly wanted to get rid of the giant duplicate "Jersey City" label on the map from way 659474186. However, as I understand landuse=residential, it only refers to the predominant use, so shops can exist in a landuse=residential area, and landuse can be refined down over time. This particular landuse area is much broader than I would probably draw myself if done from scratch, so I'd encourage you to refine it if you have the time :) |
144049069 | over 1 year ago | A state highway being tertiary is rather unusual at least, there's only a few examples in the whole state: https://overpass-turbo.eu/s/1Eois
|
142092096 | over 1 year ago | Go for it:) Just remember to add the place=neighbourhood nodes to the relation with the role "label". Mappers often overlook this. |
142476823 | over 1 year ago | This road was a highway=primary "stub-end", which contradicts the "Connectivity principle" that is outlined here: osm.wiki/United_States/2021_Highway_Classification_Guidance#Classification. |
144049069 | over 1 year ago | It's a state highway serving as a connection between two relatively large settlements. |
116433138 | over 1 year ago | I don't see an Overlook Park, do you mean Overlook Farms? If so, I didn't draw it unfortunately, I was just the last person to touch it ;) |

138545888 | almost 2 years ago | I don't believe access=psv is valid. To tag that it is only for buses one would use access=no + bus=yes. |
