Via Monte Napoleone

Alecs01 erabiltzaileak 5 Abendua 2015 datan argitaratua English hizkuntzan

Via Monte Napoleone in Milan is a well known luxury shopping destination, third shopping street in Europe considering rental value, at least according to them.

Until now the street in OSM had complete street numbering, but not many shops.

After a quick survey (and a much longer JOSM session) we got more than 60 shops along the street (I missed a few for sure). Happy shopping :)

Hi Alecs01,

Nice work! We know so much how working on OSM project “take a time”, and all “honest persons” know the goal of this great project. Of course everybody can “improve” the work of the others contributors. But, all contributors must do his best when is working on it. Nobody’s perfect, but all together we can improve and change the world in the deeper if we have enough “will”. However, for several reasons, it isn’t easy each time. We live all in the “dangerous world” and there exist some dangerous persons. The question is: “who is “honest” and who is “dangerous”? It’s not allays so “easy” to reveal… Personally I know what the matter in this world and we are in fight against several things. In fight against “climate change”, in fight against those who want to spread the “fear” around the world for to come back in the certain “past”… We know our future concern not only our “planet”, but it will take a time. So, on earth, we must change our daily gestures and behaviors, for the beginning, it’s will be the “cheaper” act. However, it’s will not enough. So if we want enough time for to build our future we have interest to “change”. The “Mars mapping” party will be not for “tomorrow”…

Have a nice week and congratulation.

Great detail! Adding POIs in an editor takes a lot of time indeed. Can’t imagine how many hours it took you to add all these.

Why I love OSM in one (animated) image. Even in well-mapped European cities there is still so much detail that can be added, and it’s always changing :)

Some years ago I have mapped some of the shops in the Monte Napoleone area (including via Monte Napoleone).

This job is really difficult because the shops change very often. So I started the job of mapping the shops down there, but then I stopped because I was bored of finding anytime I got there a different shop to be mapped.

Well done for the job. You have more perseverance than me.
