Supermarkets not displaying properly

Posted by Andrew Gabriel on 24 September 2009 in English.

I've been adding lots of detail for my home town, Fleet. However, I can't seem to find a set of tags that makes the supermarkets display correctly. If you look at osm.org/?lat=51.281266&lon=-0.840839&zoom=18&layers=B000FTF you will see a Sainsbury's, Marks and Spencer, and Waitrose, but shown only as the text wrapped around an invisible boundary box. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong with these?

You didn't create a proper box for the Marks and Spencer. The side directly connected to the Sainsbury's was really two ways, going in different directions. I removed the superfluous way and it should work now.
By the way, only on the highest zoom, the Marks and Spencer wasn't visible.

there's stile a 'line' which won't show up as its not a complete area:

looks good but I would still tag the building with the rest of the building tags to do 3d render, and do an address point for the address info. :)
