Lots of bits in County Tipperary

AndrewMcCarthy님이 English로 2008년 8월 4일에 게시함.

Spending a great weekend in Tipperary, we covered quite a few roads. I've now completed the R668 (Cahir to Lismore), which towards it's southern end is a mixture of great scenery at The Vee, and some truly awful roads — narrow, very twisty, bumpy, and overshadowed with trees. My GPS traces in places drift apart (we were on it three times!), so more traces would be good. It's worth seeing, anyway!

I also managed to complete the related R669, and identified an existing road on the map as the R670. Conversely, I found a trace in the database with no way that turns out to be the R665 from Clogheen to Mitchelstown, so that's nearly complete too. Some other fragments in Cashel, including an off-ramp from the N8 made for a reasonably productive mapping weekend.

Does anyone know what the N24 through Cahir is now classed as (it appears the N24 has moved to a bypass, although I never saw it personally)? I'm guessing R527, but it's still signposted as the N24. For the hundreds of millions of euro they spend, the NRA never seem to have a budget for re-signing the old roads...

Hi Edward,

I wasn't in Tipperary town itself this time, but I'll bear it in mind for the future. We had a great time in the hotel we stayed in, so we'll almost certainly be going back.

Cheers,

Andrew
