How does Something this big get missed! | Last time I checked there were no National Forests for Utah, either. There are a lot of major features missing. AFBs? Anyway, I've added the National Forests for Ariz. and New Mexico - contact me if you need help/advice. Andy |

Digitizing trails from USGS Topo's | Did you check the NPS website? I've added trails for some local parks and the NPS website had the shapefiles ready for download and conversion. Pretty quick and simple. Andy |

I just gave my "OpenStreetMap integration into Wikimania projects" talk at Wikimania 2009 | I just went through your slides - very nice presentation! Andy |

Newbie on a Road Trip! | I think the easiest way to gather information like banks, gas stations, hotels, etc. is to create a GPS track log while you are taking pictures. Once you get back from your trip you can synchronize your pictures with the track log in JOSM and see exactly what business you saw where. This can then be matched with the Yahoo satellite images. So I think collecting track logs is still useful, even on roads that are already fixed/mapped. |

update | Right click over a tile and choose "View Image". Then append "/dirty" to the URL of the image and hit return. It will say "Tile submitted for rendering". Now refresh your map after a few minutes. You might need to clear your browser cache. |

Why so many new signups from Fremont, CA? | User growth appears to be rapidly increasing. So is activity. |

National Park = Nature Preserve? | Sorry, sent you a message when I really meant to reply to your post. |

National Park = Nature Preserve? | The nature reserves only appear like that because that is how Mapnik is configured. Mapnik can be configured to render nature reserves in a different color. So it's not the tag that's the issue, but the default Mapnik rules I suppose. |
