Hi Anton, Excellent tool. I included in one entry of my diary. In fact, I have leed the notes resolution in Colombia, and now we are working on this at Latinamerican level. I will propose your tool to solve notes, as one of the several tools used when working on notes.

@LivingWithDragons I know that validating from the ground could be the best thing. However, in Colombia, a country that lacks a lot of mapping, where its size is twice the size of France, where half of the country is Amazon forest without highways, and most of the other half is high Andean mountains, you decide to trust the content of most of the notes. That’s why we need to trust our users. This is the only way to have a communication between no-mappers and mappers-like us. I know there is a lot of vandalism on the map, but I think if someone wants to do vandalism, that person will do it directly on the map, instead of creating a note to someone else do the vandalism for him. By building trust with the users (not mappers) and interacting with them (answering the notes) create a healthy atmosphere for our map. OSM could be used in many places of the world, but it still unknown for most of the people. Notes could be the only option for no-mappers to easily express its voice about an error on the map. I think we (experienced mappers) have to tear down these walls that blocks only map users and new mappers. And finally, many of us that believe we are experts and we do everything correct, in fact we create many errors on the map, and sometimes this is worse that a minor scale vandalism.

@Mateusz Konieczny I know that the zero width character is from JOSM, but probably the only app that includes URL photos is StreetComplete, thus the problem raises when solving notes created in this app (I discovered the error).

By publishing photos into https://westnordost.de/, we do not know the terms of usage. Am I publishing into Public Domain? Creative commons license? Do I lose my rights on the photo? What will westnordost do with the photos in the future? delete them after a while, sell them? What if the photo is delete it before the note is solve? There are many legal questions in this field, and the main page just shows a blog from someone that went to a beach and other places. That’s why I propose something else to publish photos. If Westnordost changes the main page and includes the terms of usage, it will be the best place to publish photos from notes.

In the other side, StreetComplete is one of the best ways to create notes, by easily including photos. The other apps do not include this great feature.

Realmente no tengo una tasa exacta de notas que aportan. Sin embargo, puedo decir que la mayoría son de un aporte puntual en el mapa, en el sentido agregar un tag, cambiar algo, borrar algo, donde uno no toma mucho tiempo para resolver una nota.

Una pocas implican un gran cambio, como “alinear un río”, mapear una ruta de buses intermunicipal que va por X carretera, agregar una carretera con Strava Heatmap.

Las que no aportan, en Colombia decidimos dejar un mensaje para que los contribuidores entiendan un poco más para qué son las notas. Pero este mensaje es copias / pegar y se cierra.

Pero te puedo decir que resolver las notas ha sido el mejor lugar de aprendizaje de OSM, ya que las notas solicitan mapear cosas que de pronto nunca has mapeado, y necesitas documentarte. Esta parte de leer el query, buscar, preguntar, analizar si puede tomar mucho tiempo, pero fortalece tus conocimientos.

About the Garmin photos, they are not good in indoors or with low light, otherwise I am satisfied with the result. About the speed, I do not take at that rate. However, it seems a SD card problem, instead of the camera. I have a high speed and card and I have not had any problem. The 2 meter cable was to keep both cameras an cell phone with energy for long time. Finally, the main purpose of this entry was not talking about the Garmin camera, but about a bike with 360 photos.
