I came across an official road sign in Wales telling drivers to ignore their sat nav and not turn off through a village. It even had a symbol of a satellite above a car. Wish I'd got a photo.
My thoughts exactly nmixter. If I had had a texter at the time, I'd added that promptly :) Oh, and the additional; 'Free -working- Garmin map of Norway here: www.frikart.no'
Interesting problem, same I did a comparison of google maps with satelite images and OSM in my area, the google maps are mainly TeleAtlas (TomTom), and that is plainly wrong. In other words, OSM give you a safer and correct route even though much data still is missing, damn I am mapping the area all alone.

At least OSM map is correct. Maybe they can change sign to 'go to openstreetmap.org for an updated route'
