Walking Papers

I finally got around to trying out Walking Papers

http://walking-papers.org/

It is a great way to make edits and annotations to an existing area. In my case I had all the streets in the area, but I needed to mark some construction changes and turn restrictions. Walking papers is perfect for this.

If you haven't tried it, you need to :-)

Hi, I've checked out Walking Papers, it looks really good !
One thing I could not find, is how the scanned papers would contribute to OSM. Is there a layer on the map in the editor that can display the scanned in annotations, to copy them on the map ?

Frederik.

Yes, that is how it works. Once you have scanned in your paper, you can use it as a background for either Potlatch or JOSM. There is an option on the Walking Papers upload web page to run Potlatch with the scanned image as the background. It also gives you an ID number which you can use with a plugin for JOSM, to use your scanned image as the background in JOSM.
