Most people these days prefer flattery to doing good. Because flattery helps people to reach their goals very quickly. And this practice is increasing day by day in open communities. Due to which, day by day, open tools are closing down without being able to keep up with time.

How many other tools are open/free related to OpenStreetMap?

If it continues like this, it will just turn into garbage one day.

Everyone will chant until his own interests are saved, after which people will leave this too.

আজকাল বেশির ভাগ মানুষ ভালোকিছু করার চেয়ে চাটুকারিতা বেশি পছন্দ করে। কারণ চাটুকারিতা মানুষকে খুব তাড়াতাড়ি তার অভীষ্ট লক্ষে পৌছাতে সাহায্য করে। আর ওপেন কমিউনিটিতে এই প্রাকটিস দিন দিন বেড়েই চলছে। যার কারণে দিন দিন ওপেন টুল গুলো সময়ের সাথে পাল্লাদিয়ে টিকে থাকতে না পেরে বন্ধ হয়ে যাচ্ছে।

এমন চলতে থাকলে এটা শুধুই গারবেজ এ পরিনত হবে একদিন।

সবাই তার নিজ নিজ সার্থ উদ্ধার হওয়া পর্যন্ত গুনোগান করবে এর পর এটাকেও মানুষ ছেড়ে দিবে ।

Highway mapping is a big confusing thing for most mappers. This is more difficult for those who are new or not connected to the local community. Because, when are adding or mapping local highway information in the Openstreetmap suddenly they found that the local government has one highway classified system and the other side OpenStreetMap has a different classification system. So most of the time they avoid adding roads or did “road = unclassified”. In addition, many times when there is an emergency or remotely mapping highways from different countries they also inadvertently give wrong information. Because they always follow the OpenStreetMaps classification. And it makes a conflict.

So the Local community creates a Highway tag list which is based on the Government’s existing system.

If anyone wants to map by following that tag, he should follow that list or if he wants to do it in JOSM, he can easily draw the highway by adding BD_Highway_tag from JOSM’s preset preference.

How to add the presets:

• First, open the JOSM.
• Then click presets preferences from the top menu. (it will open a toolbar.)
• Then find out the “BD_Highway_tag” presets. (If it not showing on the list then just click the reload icon)
• Then add it on active presets.
• After that click OK.

Now it will be showing in the Active presets list.

In 14 May 2015 i joined the #OpenStreetMap team as a mapper . That time i feel so much bad & think why i do this ? But after a long time with osm i learn lot of thinks. Now i am a osm map trainer . That’s why i know some common question’s answers . Now i share it for new comer who recently joined or want to be joined it .

• Why Map ?

• What Can I Do ?

=> Join the community of online volunteer mappers. Make a powerful contribution with an Internet connection and basic computer skills, even if you do not live in the area you are mapping. Use satellite imagery to trace the outlines of roads, structures and land features for the creation of openly available data used to produce maps that help the humanitarian and development community.There are several ways to get involved and aid humanitarian crowd-sourced mapping initiatives. This site provides one such path.
