Changing email address of OSM account
ߊ߬ ߟߊߦߟߍ߬ߣߍ߲߬ ߦߋ߫ BlueMM ߓߟߏ߫ 22 July 2008 ߦߋ߫ English ߟߋ߬ ߘߐ߫Searched through the web interface looking for a way to change my email address, can't seem to find. Guess I should file a bug, hopefully users aren't keyed off the email address...

Users are keyed off both the email address and the display name - both are unique and either can be used to login.
If you want to change your email address then send me a message - it isn't possible to do it yourself yet but I can do it.

I believe BlueMM was worried that in DB every node/way carries email as the reference to the author. I believe this reference is numeric user_id, independent of email and display name and not visible to users (except in planet dumps along with display name)

StefanM: Yep, that was pretty much my concern. Some systems key off the email address instead of a primary ID key.
