Used Yahoo imagery to map out Shirley Park / Labiance and Glenhaven. The aim is to fill in the middle (of Cape Town) and then move to the right and outwards. I haven't been able to get to naming any of the streets yet as I don't feel like missioning out in the rain.

After seeing other Diary entries, I thought I would start adding my own.

I Mapped Tygerberg Nature Reserve from Yahoo imagery yesterday. There's a lot to map north of the reserve (quarries, wine farms etc). The difficult part is trying to decide where a wine farm stops and the next one starts. I'll have to go visit, sample the wines (to see if they're any good:P) and find out where the boundaries are.

I managed to map Stickland and Bellair from Yahoo imagery too. I didn't feel like importing the data from the Cape Town import. We're building a rendering engine at the moment and playing with the map gives me a better feel for the tags being used. I'll go drive around and pick up the street names as they are on the ground this weekend perhaps.

Also this week I noticed some users adding more detail to the Northern Suburbs. The Northern Suburbs are really coming into their own. I'd like Cape Town to reach a "complete" status where the roads are pretty much done within the Metro within the next few weeks if possible. It'd be nice to move resources to other areas (West Coast anyone?).
