I've joined this site to help support the free mapping services provided by Openstreet. However, I have no experience and do not really know what to do. I am a school teacher and am very busy as we near the end of the school year. I don't really have a lot of time right now to devote to learning how to update the map. The map is very poor for the area I live in with most of the streets missing and the streets that are present not being accurately portrayed on the map. Over the summer I will have a lot more time though I will be working on my Advanced Placement certification for teaching. It would be good if we could start a mapping club in Warner Robins to work on building a good map for our community. If anyone reads this and is interested, please let me know. I would be happy to work with you and others.

There is a beginner's guide on the wiki that should help get you started. The Map Features page is a very good reference to keep handy to know what kind of objects to map and how to map them.
Here are some video tutorials. Some of them are a little dated so the editors might look a little different but most of the concepts should be similar:
