Private potlatch/JOSM

Publicado por Circeus o 24 de Novembro de 2008 en English.

I've been wondering... How would one proceed to set up a private, offline form of OSM that they could use for private/fantasy/micromapping? I know quite a few people in the Conworld community might be interested in doing so, but there is little to no documentations about the set up, and that which exists is virtually impenetrable for the neophyte.

Why not just add it to the public map? That is what makes open source great is that people can add whatever features they want (that have been setup of course) to the map and use it however they want.

nmixter: he included the word "fantasy"... he needs his own map :-)

Circeus:
Just follow the instructions to set up the "Rails Port".
osm.wiki/The_Rails_Port

This will setup a full OSM server including the latest version of Potlatch, starting with an empty database.
