It is not the Central Police Station anymore. Moved to College Hill last year https://www.police.govt.nz/news/release/new-auckland-central-police-hub-open-its-doors-staff-and-public

Names should not be used for descriptions, eg "path between Epsom Ave and gillies Ave".

If a path doesn't have a name, it doesn't have a name.

@kylenz yes I believe you've misread the changeset. The tag was indeed added to the Wellington/Hamilton shelters. It was removed only from the West Akl park picnic shelters.

Yeah that isn't so clear, and I see it done both ways. Personally I draw the beach out as far as the sand is visible in the aerial imagery (ie where you pulled the coastline out to). Different renders will show it in different ways, some will show the sand underwater, others not at all.

Hi kylenz,
It looks like in this changeset you've redrawn the coastline at beaches along a low-tide point (as is visible in the default 2017 imagery). Please note that coastline is intended to represent the high-tide point, see osm.wiki/Tag:natural%3Dcoastline

Welcome to OSM and thank you for your contribution. I have reviewed your edit and it looks good :) I've also added the playground slide which is next to the steps.

Welcome to OpenStreetMap and thank you for your edits updating Parnell Businesses, it's great to have your local knowledge on the map.

I see you updated the address of the Indian restaurant, but you left the node in the same location. I have now updated the location to number 193 accordingly (and I deleted the previous node at #193 for Alphabet cafe)

I also deleted the node for Farside pub.

Don't be afraid to drag nodes to their new location if a business has moved, or delete them entirely if the business has closed :)

No worries Daniel, thanks for following up. Yes on OSM the "highway" key is used for all sorts of paths like cycleways, shared paths, walking trails.. etc.

91568479 almost 5 years ago

I would suggest reading the OSM wiki pages on highway=cycleway: osm.wiki/Tag:highway%3Dcycleway

and for highway=construction:
osm.wiki/Tag:highway%3Dconstruction

Agree with kylenz. The feature was correctly tagged with highway=construction and construction=cycleway, as should be done for a feature which will become a highway=cycleway when construction is complete.

Selwyn Village is not a suburb, it's the name of the retirement home at the end of Target Street: osm.org/way/39668436

I've moved the place=suburb node into the village grounds, and downgraded to place=neighbourhood. Though maybe this is a duplication in terms of 'one feature one OSM element'

It looks like you have moved features to line up with misaligned imagery. Specifically ways 335332493 and 187008530, which are aligned with Maxar but no longer with the LINZ imagery. LINZ is the better aligned imagery - Maxar should be offset before using it for tracing.

Also this changeset deleted way 24461154 which I think is still the main access into the park (i'll put a note on the map to resurvey)

Hi Callum, you accidentally dragged some nodes in this changeset. I have reverted those now. These mistakes probably happen when you're clicking to pan the map around. You can avoid this by filtering which features are shown in the editor: click 'Map Data' on the right toolbar, scroll to the bottom and filter to only show whatever you're working on.

Thanks for the work improving Auckland's pathways :)

Please note the LINZ imagery you are using is out of date - there has been a major rebuild of the mall and the service roads have been removed

85136708 almost 5 years ago

In this changeset you deleted these driveway features, but they've recently been re-added in changeset 89005167

If there was a routing issue due to these diveways, it will likely re-appear. Can the routing issue be addressed in another way?

Hi ChookMan, the construction prefix hasn't been used correctly in this changeset. You should use aeroway=construction
construction=taxiway for a taxiway under construction. So the renderer is showing an active runway/waxiway

See osm.wiki/Tag:aeroway%3Dtaxiway#Lifecycle

You have used out-of-date aerial imagery and road data. The link has been removed as part of road redesign works currently underway,

See note osm.org/note/2272972

This didn't revert the geometry as I'd hoped.. The shift was minor enough, I will leave it as is.
