Despite the rain I spent about an hour doing pickups in Hamstreet Wood. I had mapped most of the paths in the wood but had some spurs still unaccounted for.
One more visit should hopefully have it finished.

Looks good, though it makes all the other woods north of the railway look rather blank!

Most of the surrounding woods are private property, so the most I could map there are any public footpaths going through them. Hamstreet Wood, on the other hand, is a National Nature Reserve, so there are many more paths.
Orlestone Wood, a little further west, is also open to the public. That's one of a few woods in the area owned by the Forestry Commission.

Not at all. But if a wood is private you cannot go exploring. If no footpaths go through it, you can't go in there. If any footpaths do go through it, you cannot stray from those paths.
Hamstreet Wood has a parking area and encourages visitors. Since lots of people go there, that's why I've been mapping it.
