Ok so has anyone else found that their GPS doesn't recognise every junction.

It seams that when one road joins another at an acute angle my Garmin is unable to see it as a junction. I've got around this by placing another node on the joining way very close to the final node so as not to inturupt the look of the junction but make the final part of the way right angles so that my Garmin tells me to turn left/right.

Has anyone else solved this with a different method? I thought about making the final node a stop sign but this might not always be the case....

For the example shown it's more confusing because the road Calverley Park Gardens (A264) joins Pembury Road (A264) but I've seen the same behavoir at other junctions

Do you ever get that feelig that the hours you spend mapping your own little area won't amount to much?

I love coming on here and reading about mapping efforts going on in Australlia, South Africa, Germany and all the other areas. Individual efforts across the globe are all adding together to make a fantastic mapping solution.

So while I concentrate my efforts on one town in England I'm happy knowing that when I visit Canada a similar individual worked hard to make my trip better :-)

In return I welcome you all to visit south east england where many fellow mappers and I are working hard to make a difference.

I'm really getting into the swing of this. I have been walking the streets of my local area and getting lots of gps tracks.

I've started to notice that several roads don't match my tracks. I've driven and walked these roads and sometimes the road is about 20m off the track.

Is there anything I should do before making to many changes ot other people's work. To avoid stepping on people's toes or making my own mistakes.....

Hey fellow mappers. I've made my first reasonable contribution to the community and mapped between Camden Road and St James Road. I noticed the huge void there and further on to sandhurst Road so I'm going to try and fill the whole gap.

It's been good fun and a nice 3 1/2 mile walk for a saturday morning. I'm happy to hear from anyone else in the area who's keen to do some mapping with me. Tunbridge Wells is a big place afterall!
