I've read osm.org/user/Nic%20Roets/diary/1913 and now I wanted to see the history of a track...but...I don't get a history, I get ...nothing, no 404error ...just a blank, white site.

The URL to one of the ways is -> osm.org/api/0.5/way/24792934/history

Why is there no "history file"?

I tried every way in "my region"...but no one of these tracks has a history...

Wenn Leute mit $editor (welcher editor packt ein "author" tag da rein?) eine Strecke erstellen, die als eine Straße kennzeichnen (obwohl es mehrere sind) UND dann nach ca. 1 1/2 Wochen nicht onkommen um mal ihre "inbox" zu checken!

In meiner Umgebung ist genau das passiert...das Ende vom Lied ist, dass ich
-> den größten Teil der Strecke löschen darf (ich kenne nur 2 Straßennamen, den Rest weiß ich nicht und ich glaube auch, dass das ganze nicht so wirklich genau ist...)

-> das ganze irgendwann selbst abfahren darf (wenn hier endlich der Pollenflug aufhört -.-)

-> ich hiermit einen Vorschlag mache, dass man ein bestimmtes Gebiet für sich sperren darf.
Sprich: Ich kann in den Editor gehen und ein Gebiet auswählen und sagen "meins" und somit darf in dem Bereich niemand mehr editieren...der Bereich darf natürlich nur begrenzte Ausmaße haben.
Desweiteren sollten fertig gemappte Gebiete vollständig gesperrt werden (dazu benötigt man 3 Authoren die alle ihren Wohnort dort in der nähe haben)
Will jetzt jemand etwas editieren, wird ein Antrag an die 3 Autoren gestellt...2 von denen müssen den genemigen, ansonsten wird abgelehnt

because of the comment in this ( osm.org/user/Detructor/diary/1709#comments ) thread from TomH I wanted to ask if it is allowed to use online map sites (such as http://maps.google.com ) to get the name of a street?!

I've just inserted a track (kirchgellersen - heiligenthal - oedeme) and found some...yeah I think it's the worst mapped area of OSM I've ever seen.
There are some streets, without a break (you know, when you're in the editor (potlatch) you click a street and only the part of the street that have the same name is selected and you can join streets then) and without a name.
It taked me ca. 10 minutes to identifie the streets with the help of some online maps...but I don't want to edit that myself...so I would try to ask the mapper who created this crap to give me his tracks, or to bring his work to an end.
The mapper uses the nick "tennet-ahertel" does someone know how I could contact him?

...before the 14. may, I've connected Kirchgellersen to Reppensted and Lüneburg via the "L216", at the 14.may I uploaded my third track log to OSM and yesterday I uploaded the fourth track log.
Today I will upload a track log from saturday, where I cycled ca 7 km, met some friends and broiled some meat ;) (after that I cycled back to my home...it was 22.30 o'clock ...and there was really nobody on the streets...was a little bit scary with this dark forest at the left and right side of the street^^)

Next things to do:
-> "connect" Kirchgellersen to Dachtmissen/Westergellersen/Südergellersen (Heiligental will be connected via the logg today)

after that I will map the "development areas" and after that I will insert POI, sideways and the fully crap :D

When I've done that (accentuation on "When" ;)) I'll logg some of the villages next to Kirchgellersen.

I would like to know what editors do you use?
I'm using potlatch (the online editor).
Why?
Because it is simple and the GPS points are connected automaticly, so I only have to redraw the line.

I've tried JOSM, but JOSM only shows me some points, and it doesn't make the points bigger when I zoom in...it is impossible for me to map with JOSM

Then I've tried Merkaartor...but from Merkaartor I only get a http 400 error, so I can't download map data from OSM.

So: What for an editor you use? And why?

The 400 status means
"Bad Request

The request could not be understood by the server due to malformed syntax. The client SHOULD NOT repeat the request without modifications. "

so, what is going on there?!
In the wiki I only found an entry for a 401 error...

I'm using Ubuntu 8.04...

In the edit mode of potlatch I see the way correctly, but in osmarender...it is not displayed correct, can someone help me?
I've made the latest changes ca. 20 hours ago.
