Thanks for your comment, sorry for not replying sooner. I've added a node to represent the shop and moved the wikidata tag from the building to it.

Thanks for spotting this. Sorry for my mistake. I've added the right wikidata tag to Jubilee Campus.

I only added the wikidata tag. The height was already there. Yes, it would be great if you could correct the height.

I've changed my software so it warns when there is already a brand:wikidata tag.

Are you suggesting a relation with type=street, wikidata=Q4631434 and name=22nd Street?

Hi ﴿﴾‎,

You're right. I'll add the same wikidata tag to the other ways within the streams.

I've built a tool to assist people in adding wikidata tags to objects in OSM. It looks for items in Wikidata and find matching objects in OSM. Candidate matches must have matching tags, and either a matching name, identifier or street address.

Once the tool produces a list of candidates the person editing checks the edits and then uploads the correct matches.

This is the system I used for this changeset.

You can try it here: https://osm.wikidata.link/

Thanks @sdoerr, I've added a wikidata tag to that library.

Hi Klaus,

This is the Tesco head office, not a branch of the supermarket.

In many cases the HQ of companies have a Wikidata tag that points to the item that describes the company. Maybe there is a different way to tag that would be clearer.

There can be some confusion between a company and the main building occupied by that company. It would be better if Wikidata had an item to represent the Tesco head office.

Thanks, I've removed the wikidata tag from that relation.

Hi Belobog,

Thanks for spotting my mistake and letting me know. I'll fix it.

Thanks for spotting and fixing this Jez. The OSM/Wikidata produces the occasional false positive. I check all the suggested matches before uploading them, but I missed this one.

Since this match was found the code has improved, if run today it would no longer consider these two objects to be a match.

I added the wikidata tag to the pub when it was called the King's Cross. At the time the name in OSM matched the title in Wikidata. The pub has since been renamed.

Thanks for spotting this. I've corrected the wikidata tag to point to the right item and made some notes to try and avoid matches like this happening again:

Thanks, this is great feedback.

The software considers the Wikipedia category and the name when it suggested a match. I checked the suggested matches by hand, the Oldmoor Wood match looked good.

I'll change the interface to highlight when the Wikidata item 'instance of' conflicts with the OSM tags and Wikipedia categories. The mapper who is using the tool can then avoid adding the wikidata tag to OSM, or fix the item in Wikidata before adding the wikidata tag.
