Working with GPS and OpenStreetMap has never been this fascinating!! Its 6 days since we started mapping Ugunja District in western Kenya, and now things are getting into shape…..what used to be an open field on the map, the void that has been so significant when vied from the paper is slowly disappearing. Today we are in the second day of mapping South Ugenya and Western part of Ugunja town and its evident that the four mapping assistant are doing a great job in the fields. As we finish the work on Monday next week, I can’t wait to do the aggressive work of uploading data on the OSM platform.
