Changeset When Comment

You didn't have to remove the name from the point. Please add it

Well done!

"Please help me verify this business!" is not a good changeset comment. Checking "I would like someone to review my edits." before uploading helps. Say "added guest house" is much better.

I will also change the building to a general building i.e. building=yes and not a house

128841385 over 2 years ago

All is good. Remove "building:levels=G",
keep the name and details of the guest house on only one feature type; either a point or the building, but not both.

Hi Maxwell, let the building polygon represent the building footprint on the ground. The following
1 - osm.org/way/1112270948
2 - osm.org/way/1112268975
and buildings around here do not show what's in the imagery. I have tried to fix one as an example here https://pewu.github.io/osm-history/#/way/1112270948

Hope it helps.

Hi, avoid mapping ghost round buildings such as osm.org/way/1072889759 and others you have mapped here.

Hi,
If you can't see what's in the imagery, kindly just don't map anything. For example, osm.org/way/1072914511 is not a building.

Use a good changeset comment that is meaningful to other mappers too, not just some random hashtags that doesn't help.

Hi abdul_, kindly check the imagery offset for Maxar in/around Wa when adding new data. You can use the "Get Imagery Offset" from the "Imagery" menu in JOSM to see some saved offsets by other mappers and how they fit with existing data.
Happy mapping!

Hi Kwadwo, and welcome to OpenStreetMap. Thank you for mapping, unfortunately mapping unconnected ways as you did here is useless in OpenStreetMap and to everyone. A good question to ask yourself is how will a vehicle connect to this from where?

Start from an area around you where you can map or update missing features you know about.

Hi herbert agyeman,

Welcome to OpenStreetMap (OSM), and thanks for your contributions.

Unfortunately, most of them are out of place and must be fixed, which is also not a big problem in OSM.

Here are a couple of things to note before mapping;
1. Since you are using the iD editor, kindly zoom in enough to see existing objects before adding new ones to avoid duplicate data.
2. Use the full names of streets, i.e. "Airport Road" instead of "airport rd"
3. You don't need to add "I like to ..." at the beginning of your changeset comments, "added road names in Sunyani" or "added road names" is already good.

Here is a resource for getting started with iD editor https://learnosm.org/en/beginner/id-editor/

Happy Mapping!

hi,
can you clarify the use of these spaghetti roads?

hi,
can you clarify the usefulness of these spaghetti roads you mapped here?

I am not sure how you came up with https://pewu.github.io/osm-history/#/way/783148500 and others here, can you please clarify or you are just fantasy mapping?

Welcome to OpenStreetMap. Avoid using those hash they make no meaning. Also, stop putting your name in the changeset comments. See what a Good changeset comment is osm.wiki/Good_changeset_comments

Don't just add tags anywhere without understanding what they mean. For example, adding a railway switch to the corner of a building like here https://pewu.github.io/osm-history/#/node/5233056634 is useless and false

123688984 almost 3 years ago

thanks for mapping, but be careful when using a mobile app; you just added a trash bin to an existing building's node here osm.org/node/3431479458

Please, what are you trying to map here?

125724713 almost 3 years ago

Putting "Mapped buildings" before all those hashtags is much more useful.

Alos, kindly stop adding "addr:city=Boadi" to buildings
