How can I copy parts of the OSM map onto my Garmin GPS?
With which "Export" option? And how can it be transfered into an .img file which then is downloaded into MapSource ?

The alternative is download countries or areas from Cloudmade here
http://downloads.cloudmade.com/
Download the Garmin files ( IMG ) and copy them to your memory card if
you have a Garmin with SD card. If you don't it is a little limited as the Garmins have quite a small internal memory
