I map mostly in the Melbourne suburbs. Originally started mapping because the cycling directions on google maps were (and still are) really bad, making you go in circles and stuff like that. Now I map for fun and because I want to eventually make the map good enough that everyone could use it instead of proprietary apps like google maps.
