44535104 | over 8 years ago | Hi there, are you familiar with these objects? I would be wary of editing things strictly by name around the country because, as an example, you added a pharmacy tag to osm.org/way/111865291/ but its name is not the same as Walgreens. I don't know if it's a typo or a similarly named business, but I would hesitate to make that change unless you were familiar with the area (in which case you should probably update the name if it is a typo).

44618636 | over 8 years ago | Hey C! Welcome to OpenStreetMap! Glad to have another mapper in the Madison area :). If you run into any problems or have a question about the project, don't hesitate to shoot me a message.

44623436 | over 8 years ago | Hi, would it be possible to please separate changes that occur in opposite parts of the world into different changesets? It's hard to monitor changes for a local area if there are wide sweeping changeset bounding boxes spanning much of the globe.

44325940 | over 8 years ago | Hi, welcome to OpenStreetMap! Can you provide a little more information about the location "home bank" you added? It looks like it is in a group of residences, but it is tagged as a bank.

44503687 | over 8 years ago | Hey! Wow, you've been adding *a lot* of detail in Seminole--looking great! It's good to have some more mappers active in the Permian Basin :). Do you use any special tools when surveying? I haven't really found a good phone app for taking notes quickly, so I end up just using a pad and paper haha. Happy Mapping and Happy Holidays,

44567261 | over 8 years ago | Hi! Welcome to OpenStreetMap. While you were trying to make your first edit, it looks like you deleted a river and some other objects. Keep in mind that when you save your edits, they go into a live database. Also, it's better to try and edit some of the objects already present if you are trying to add detail--instead of deleting the whole thing and starting over. If you have any questions about mapping or the project, don't hesitate to ask!

44460930 | over 8 years ago | Hi, can you provide some more information about the source for marking this as a military installation? I couldn't resolve any indications on the compatible satellite imagery through iD (Bing, MapBox) that this may be. |
44171060 | over 8 years ago | Hi katpatuka,

44176641 | over 8 years ago | Hi and welcome to OpenStreetMap. The edits you are making go directly into a live database, so please don't doodle--it appears you've made a hexagonal airport runway and added a shop tag to a reef. If you have questions about mapping, please do ask on the http://help.osm.org, http://irc.osm.org, http://forum.osm.org sites or alternatively in changeset comments or via private message. Thanks! |
44163602 | over 8 years ago | Hi l8ghtofheaven, generally in OpenStreetMap we follow a policy of representing de facto borders in the case of the South China Sea because of the disputes that are occurring by multiple countries. Usually that choice stems from the on the ground situation. This document http://wiki.osmfoundation.org/w/images/d/d8/DisputedTerritoriesInformation.pdf provides you with some more information about disputed regions. There are many tags throughout this region that indicate islands are disputed. If you are interested in changing tags on some of these islands, I encourage you to first start a discussion with the community through changeset comments. Also, the great thing about OSM is that it's freely downloadable. This allows you to download the data and modify it as you'd like for your own use on personal websites. |
44171060 | over 8 years ago | This is part one of reversions for edits within the SCS that modified boundaries. |
44165274 | over 8 years ago | Hello there. Please stop mass-deleting things without explanation. If you are interested in adding country-specific names to these disputed regions or commenting on a particular edit, that is fine. But deleting things without any discussion is not helpful to creating dialogue and doesn't let other mappers know why you are doing so. So, if you believe they should not have been added for some reason, then comment on the changeset to attempt starting a discussion. I will be going through edits in this region as well to make sure unauthorized sources aren't being used.

44061722 | over 8 years ago | Hi Ema, Thanks for using OpenStreetMap and Maps.me! I noticed you were adding a lot of points that seem to be related to a bike or other sort of race. Unfortunately, we only map things in OSM that are on the ground and not temporary, as opposed to custom objects. Furthermore, edits through Maps.me aren't even propagated to other people until the next app update. So, if you want to make a custom map and add this sort of data, I would suggest using a tool like http://umap.openstreetmap.fr/en/ that provides the ability to add custom waypoints and share the resulting map with anyone else. If you are interested in using umap, you can access your changesets through the OpenStreetMap website and paste the osmChangeXML url into the umap import window, then select OSM file type to import your currently added data. I'm happy to walk you through that in more detail if you'd like. Feel free to send me a private message if so. Best,

43866753 | over 8 years ago | 機器翻譯。 你好,你改變了許多高速公路的分類。 有什麼原因嗎? 其他地圖製作者試圖通過變更集討論進行聯繫。
Machine translation: Hello, you have changed the classification of many highways. Is there a particular reason? Other mappers have tried to contact you through changeset discussions.

43786445 | over 8 years ago | Hi, welcome to OSM! I noticed you joined recently and I hope you have enjoyed editing so far. I was just curious if there is some tool you're using to add buildings around the country. The US is definitely way behind in terms of having buildings on the map, so I wondered if there was something coordinating building tracing additions. Happy Mapping!

38938829 | over 8 years ago | Hi there--any update on this? Was this from some type of import that caused these duplicate buildings? |

40773102 | almost 9 years ago | Howdy! I recently visited the campus and had a question about tagging on some ways. On osm.org/way/45827831 and osm.org/way/45827845 you marked them as cycleway lane. Based on https://www.mapillary.com/app/?lat=30.611908279999966&lng=-96.34639654&z=17&pKey=76Ac9gRxznS1TQ9dAUBHhw&focus=photo I wasn't able to see a cycleway on these specific ways. What are your thoughts about removing the cycleway lane tags on some of these roads? Also, I did see there are cycleways straddling the tunnel sides, so I went ahead and mapped those (at least approximately since Bing imagery is out of date). Best,
