I do most of my mapping on StreetComplete and the OSM website (via the iD editor). Like most people I’m also trying to learn one of the advanced editors, in my case JOSM. I’m also giving Every Door a go, as it’s closest to iD on Android.

Right now, I’m combining iD and JOSM to create buildings en masse. I then plan to survey what I’ve done (where possible) to create up-to-date map information.
