Missing Cardrona Trails

Posted by Foolscap on 31 August 2014 in English.

They all seem to have been deleted or edited away in the last month.

Just back from cardrona to add the missing whitestar and valley quad and where there was trail maps there is now nothing.

I have all the gps traces so I can recreate them but where have they gone ?

Slightly annoyed.

They haven’t been deleted. It’s just that the map now longer shows things that have a name but not a ‘class’ (i.e. what they actually are), and you only gave these trails a name - you didn’t actually say that they are trails!

If you add tags such as ‘highway=footway’ or ‘highway=track’, then they’ll show up on the map again.

Someone edited them about 4 weeks ago and they disappeared since then, I wonder if the editor removed some details because they list Bing as the source rather than my edits which where gps traces and they have removed some physical details that were there in my post. ie a bridge.

A job for next week to correct.

Thanks

Hi Richard,

In some cases, he gave them attributes such as the highway=track

osm.org/way/184273106/history

The highway=track shouldn’t have been removed.
