130074280 | over 2 years ago | Hello taxxxi, The Ukrainian OSM community urges us not to edit the map of Ukraine during the war. Please refrain from mapping in this country until the war is over. See osm.wiki/Russian%E2%80%93Ukrainian_war for details. |
130081856 | over 2 years ago | Hello. I reverted your changeset in osm.org/changeset/130084976. Do not map in Ukraine until the war has ended. |
129654582 | over 2 years ago | Thank you for the quick reply.
I also deleted the name tags from the relation members as the name is already on the boundary relation. |
129654582 | over 2 years ago | Hi mueschel, These boundaries both have a duplicate. Do you know which ones are correct and which ones can be deleted? I also don't think these two ways need any tags at all, as they are both parts of osm.org/relation/179745. |
130073890 | over 2 years ago | Hello StanislavX, The Ukrainian OSM community urges us not to edit the map of Ukraine during the war. Please refrain from mapping in this country until the war is over. See osm.wiki/Russian%E2%80%93Ukrainian_war for details. Also, could you please add a meaningful comment to your changesets, so other users can get an idea of what you are editing? This is one of OSM's general guidelines and is documented at osm.wiki/Good_changeset_comments. |

130007222 | over 2 years ago | Hello Mazda05, When you revert a changeset, could you please mention the number(s) of the changeset(s) which you are reverting? |
129864925 | over 2 years ago | > get the actual mobile phone or landline numbers for each branch so it will be 1-relevant and 2-world-wide reachable This would be the best outcome. > maybe I can go and ask for mobile phone numbers or at least get the landline numbers Maybe if you're lucky they have an index of their phone numbers of each branch and maybe they're willing to share it. In that case you can decide with other local mappers if that's good enough to "import", meaning to tag it without visiting or calling all branches for confirmation.
> Thank you for your excellent explanations, good talk to you sir. My pleasure. I'm always open for a constructive discussion on how to improve OSM data :) |
129864925 | over 2 years ago | That's interesting. I had no idea. I would say that if the phone number is relevant for business and logistics on a local level, then the tag is valid enough. I removed it because I had the impression that it would direct you to a national call center where employees have no idea of what's going on at individual branches, but that doesn't seem to be the case here. With that said, would you like me to put the phone tag back onto the post offices? |
129864925 | over 2 years ago | Hi LockOnGuy. Thank you for the feedback and input. "phone:IQ=5512" sounds like an interesting idea, although I am concerned that: 1) This is the phone number of the brand. With this number you will not be connected to an employee at a specific location. On the US Slack I have already heard some reluctance when it comes to tagging all possible "brand:*=*" tags, and while this is not the USA, we can still consider the argument against adding all these brand details. 2) "phone:IQ=*" and similar are currently undocumented. We can document it, of course, but I doubt it will get much attention from users and may not be worth the effort even if we manage to promote it a bit. |
125673747 | over 2 years ago | You're very welcome. I'm well aware of the remaining parts that need attention. I hope I can make time for it, but it's one thing in a long list of OSM objects to clean up. |
129862697 | over 2 years ago | Dear okolobasik, I reverted your changeset in osm.org/changeset/129865934 because the Ukrainian OSM community urges us not to edit the map of Ukraine during the war there (see osm.wiki/RU:Russian–Ukrainian_war). Please refrain from mapping in Ukraine for the time being. I also ask you to write more informative changeset comments. Please have a look at osm.wiki/RU:Good_changeset_comments for the relevant documentation. |
129765303 | over 2 years ago | Thank you for your insights, Minh. I agree that it would be nice if people would come to a conclusion that is not based on outdated documentation. Slightly off-topic but maybe still interesting: the Dutch community recently discussed addr:street tags with abbreviated names. The preference at https://community.openstreetmap.org/t/addr-street-en-afkortingen-name-of-official-name-volgen-poll/5928/ seems to be leaning towards addr:street tags that match the official names of streets. |
129765303 | over 2 years ago | I would love to see the documentation that hoserab uses to dictate guidelines to others. |
Mvg,

129617225 | over 2 years ago | Hoi AnkEric, je hebt hier osm.org/way/6716317 gesplitst zonder daadwerkelijk bicycle=use_sidepath op osm.org/way/1118726566 te zetten. Was je dit in je changeset vergeten uit te voeren? |
