And their address rank is now the same. I don't remember the same behavior from before. Thank you for pointing that out.

So now that makes them the same - but different. 😸 How would you differentiate their use now?

Hi @TagaSanPedroAko.

I agree with you about the importance of this road, hence DPWH's "national tertiary" designation, which makes it an important local road.

However, I disagree that a "secondary" OSM tag makes this a "minor" road, but that's how the current convention makes it appear to be - and that's why we should

I've been looking at how other communities are tagging their roads more consistently, like: osm.org/go/TZMHdHh-?layers=H.

This brings to mind a conversation with another contributor: these road tag classifications are not significant as road connectivity (and traffic data) for real-time routing engines.

Anyway, these road tags has been reverted for now.

Thanks for chiming in, @Seav.

Well, the downside to landuse=residential is that they don't get indexed by Nominatim, or by Photon.

Ideally, we shouldn't use landuse for individual settlements, but to identify all homogenous residential areas instead.

When tagging settlements, kindly use place=village for barangay administrative settlements, following OSM conventions.

For gated communities kindly use place=neighbourhood.

Hi @El Ae.

Are these water taps or the usual fire hydrants that you've been adding in this area?

56410293 over 7 years ago

Parking (or no parking areas) are designated using osm.wiki/Key:parking:lane

Barriers are normally attached to other objects, to indicate restriction or impediment to movement.

Tagging linear ways with just :
barrier=yes + name=NO PARKING

is not conventional, and has no meaning for routing engines.

Also check out : osm.wiki/Key:parking:condition

Hello @Abdul Raffi Guiling

I recently noticed your contributions to OpenStreetMap (OSM). Thank you! Kudos for using OpenStreetMap's to create a better map of your community. As you may know, your edit is immediately live in the main OSM (read it like "awesome" 😉) website as soon as they've been saved to the database, although other apps (e.g. OsmAnd, MagicEarth, Maps.Me, etc.) may take a few weeks (or months) to refresh their copies unless you do a manual update yourself.

When you have a few minutes to spare, try the browser-based editor called iD, to edit the map of your community. You may find it quicker and easier if you need to update a lot of information on the map.

When "tagging" features (i.e. classifying objects), please try to use the appropriate tag (a school, a bank, an ATM) instead of randomly selecting other tags.

Also use Notes or comments, to bookmark features, or you risk losing those "bookmarks" when other mappers edit them if they don't reflect real world features.

Hi again. If you want to add the names of streets, the easiest would be the iD editor, if you have a computer

On mobile devices, you can try the Vespucci editor, which isn't as easy as iD, but works well enough. See http://vespucci.io/

Please avoid using other object types (like guest houses, or bakeries) to mark street names. You'd be better off using notes or comments for that.

I do appreciate how you're making your best effort to supply missing information on the map. Thank you.

This is awesome! Thank you for helping improve the map of your favorite neighbourhood.

Next time, you can try amenity=school to mark the school grounds, instead of marking the area as building.

Thank you for your contribution!

Hi there. Welcome to OpenStreetMap.

It can help a lot if you switch, and try other imagery background. Some areas may have low-resolution aerial imagery that is difficult to trace.

Thank you for your first edit.

Thanks for the contribution, and welcome to OpenStreetMap. A daycare center is not a school, and this feature is tagged as:
amenity=social_facility
social_facility:for=child
social_facility=daycare.

Try it next time.

Hi there. Welcome to OpenStreetMap.

I've been wondering about your #CTVS hashtag in your changeset comments. Do you mind pointing out any additional information about this effort? Or, how do I get in touch with your project leader?
