I don't usually write diary entries, but I suppose I could. Probably I should. Anyway, here is an island shaped like Korea, in Korea. I walked around it then mapped it when I got home.

I probably should have started a diary when I started OSM. That was a couple of weeks ago when I did my first edit. There is no-one here but me interested in mapping, so I am doing the whole town myself. I wish there were more mappers here, but let's just say it's a niche interest...

I am telling everyone about the project however, and if I can spark some interest it will make the mapping go faster and be more complete. In particular I want Koreans to be interested (it is their country after all) especially to make sure I get the Korean names and conventions correct.

Anyway, so far the project involves riding my bicycle home via different routes, and checking the map to see where I've been. Initially the trunk roads through the town were present, but not joined up. I am adding all the streets in the town, and I want to do the river too. I will also check the POIs, which seem to have come from a bulk upload somewhere. It is a thoroughly rewarding experience as it means I will visit everywhere in the town, not just the places either side of my normal route to work.
