Hi, Hillwalker.

I was a little concerned that adding this information to OSM, may not be very popular.

I’ve now had a quick look, and can see that the tag/ key combination is a valid option.

This link gives a quick pictorial view of where tagging had already been used. I found this more helpful than the raw output from the ‘taginfo’ reports.

I think this could be approached in an ad-hoc way, but I wonder whether it would be better to do this in a structured way, perhaps using MapRoulette to create challenges for each DX Entity? My next thought would be, how do we check that these are maintained, or new ones added, for example.

Does anyone else have any thoughts on the best way to implement Hillwalker’s idea?

Many thanks,

A structured method (rather than the hunt and pounce method I used) is a good idea. I don’t know how to impliment it, but it’s a good idea.

The tag is useful as it can show the full extent of park registered as POTA entities. The map application on the POTA website show only points, which can be misleading for large or extended entities.

The website https://potamap.ea7klk.es/ is a good example of using the tag to show full parks.
