natural=wood and landuse=forest completely camouflage streets (especially highway=trunk) in low zoom levels. Do you see the three rings of highway=trunk around Moscow in the attached screenshot? I don’t.

Rather than leaving comments on a duplicate ticket, it would be good to have people trying out solutions! It’s not going to fix itself and it won’t get fixed by people making comments either.

Well, actually, I like Openstreetmaps. If you look at some comercial maps, the roads look unrealistic thick - in reality they would be a couple of hunderts meter thick. So I think that openstreetmap is much superior to those unrealistic maps.

You are fortunate to live in such a ‘green’ city.
What rendering rules suits one place may not suit another. Map rendering in Australia and Africa show a blank map when zoomed out to show the whole continent. And the use of the map also should effect the rendering.

I really like the fact that OSM shows the landuse.

Obviously the best solution would be for your to burn down all the forests around Moscow.

@Andy Allan, @Warin61, @Pan, @Alan Trick: Actually I like green cities and actually I don’t live in Moscow but Hamburg. But does liking green cities imply also liking green camouflaged maps? Since the solution would be a simple one: Just reduce the color saturation for those landuse tags, at least in lower zoom levels. Has been proposed many times in https://github.com/gravitystorm/openstreetmap-carto/issues/102 but nothing actually happens.
