Today I uploaded my fieldmap paper and tweaked the road around the stadium and the paths and roads around thornton hall. Sadly I couldn’t save the changes. I got an Error: 11 provided; server had 12 Way 32065924. I tried leaving the browser and coming back in the hopes that it would ask me to restore my work and it did not. So I’m going to try and add the points again later.

What you saw is due to an edit happening to one of the ways you working on before you uploaded (the server then has a more recent version of the way and, naturally, does not know what to do when you try to upload an older modified version). Currently only P2 and JOSM handle conflicts directly (vespucci allows you to export your edits and work out in JOSM what to do).

And to avoid this, save often. Maybe every 5 or 10 minutes.
Especially if it is a busy area, with several other people editing there. Because there is a high chance of someone else editing the same things as you, causing a version conflict.
