I love JOSM/Tools/Orthogonalize shape

I remember my first steps in OSM. I drew buildings using Yahoo images. How ugly they were! I spent hours, but they did not look like real houses, just some strange, crooked figures.

With JOSM it is much better!
Now I draw similar shape quickly and very approximately, press "Tools/Orthogonalize shape" and that's almost it. Sometimes it's needed to widen or to narrow the house.

Great thanks to JOSM community!

Hi Igor! Glad to hear it is useful for you. I developed the functionality for JOSM, when I also traced plenty of buildings from Yahoo aerial imagery and wanted a simple way to get the shape nice. The old function could do only rectangles.

Thanks a lot! It is just marvelous.
JOSM is getting better every day.

Hi, thanks @ hkuchareki for that function. Does anybody know if there is a tool for merkaator/potlatch which does the trick?
