Another little update. I am writing these, usually, on Sundays. Since I am still a new user of OSM I am writing these as a little how are things going. I wanted to share my experiences and ideas with the greater OSM community.
Confused
I am still doing the mapping and having a super hard time in some ways. I have a disability and if the OSM community could make the program more accessible that would be helpful to a lot of folks. I am haaving a really hard time mapping and understanding what the tools do. For instance attributes like car=wheel, just took that out of the air. I am not fully understanding the relationships and how many should be tagged and if there is a standard block of them already made up for new users. If anyone has any ideas on how to understand the relationships more please feel free to let me know.
Disability and Accessibility
I know I just mentioned that I have a challenge and I am curious what the OSM community is reaching out to folks with challenges. Keep in mind I know nothing about what OSM is or has been doing to make this possible. Its a thought I had.

No idea what github is and I am not sure if I should use it or not. I would love to learn more about it and what I can use it for and what one cannot use it for.
StreetComplete
I am having a lot of fun doing this. Its simple yet important information. I am super curious about what happens and what the data collected goes towards after a quest is completed. Its simple yet I feel I am contributing in a small simple way.

About accessibilty:
The page Disabilities on the OSM Wiki has a wealth of information about what we have and do with accessibility.
About relations:
Relations in OSM can be very complex. I recommend leaving all route relations and boundary relations to experienced mappers until you know what you’re doing as it is easy to break them by accident.
Multipolygon relations are easier to understand: most of them are essentially donutshaped areas. These shapes don’t fit in the “way” data type we normally use for areas, so the inner and outer areas are linked to each other through a relation. The relation then receives all the tags that explain what the donut area represents. Islands in lakes are a good example of when we use multipolygons.
About StreetComplete:
In StreetComplete you’re often adding one tag at a time to an existing OSM object. Generally speaking, each tag represents one bit of information about an object. To illustrate this, a road starts with only one tag for the type of road. With StreetComplete you can add the name, the surface, whether the street is lit etc. Each of these data points becomes a tag that gets applied to the street. If a street has many tags applied to it, it means that information about the street is more “complete” in OSM. That is what you’re working towards in StreetComplete.

To see where the data goes from StreetComplete, you can check your own history page on osm.org… You’ll see every edit you made.
About GitHub, in the OSM context, it is where the source code of a lot of our tools are stored, not really useful if you’re not a developer. But it’s also, in the “issues” section, where a lot of the technical discussions happens.
For example, if you want to ask the developers of iD (the default editor on osm.org) to change the color of a button, the right place would be their github repository. Or if you think the size of some menu should be changed in StreetComplete, here is the place.
For more general discussions, and support, the osm forums might be best. If you want to ask specific questions about some problem, or if you want to start a general discussion about accessibility of the OSM tools, that will be the best place.
