Hello,

This change does not seem to be correct. It deleted secondary_links and unified the road here into one roundabout. It isn't a roundabout though - traffic coming from Spadina Avenue has right-of-way over traffic continuing around Spadina Crescent, and secondary_link is a good classification here as main traffic is north-south and has 3 lanes whereas the east-west connectors are 1 lane slip roads. Please see osm.org/note/1685741 for further details. Could you correct it please?

Realized I tagged roads with embedded_rails=|tram|tram rather than embedded_rails:lanes=|tram|tram which is more correct. Sorry about that, I will fix it at a later pass.

Hello,

I passed by here last week - there is no pedestrian crossing here. Adding this pathway suggests to pedestrian routers that Homewood Avenue can be reached from the paths through Allan Gardens. This is unfortunately not correct, except by jaywalking, and jaywalking opportunities are generally not tagged in Toronto.

I changed this in osm.org/changeset/67106430

I think striving to render labels like "Toronto Centre" is a bit of a stretch. Same with "Don Valley West". Those exist more as borders than as points or centres.

Thank you for these updates! We've had a bunch of stores added in middle of streets and it's a great help to have people with local knowledge help sort them out. And keeping on top of new businesses is also very much appreciated.

Deleted a few Sunday Stops I found along the way. These are no longer served since a couple of years and are no longer signed.

I notice that 38 to 44 Wales Avenue (osm.org/way/401216279/history) do not exist in Canada Post postal code lookup database. Maybe that was why their way was deleted. But I don't think the database is an admissible source, so it would be better to have someone pass by and verify that these housenumbers really do not exist.

Hello,

Thank you for the updates in Kensington Market, deleting the misplaced "OFFSITE" cafe and adding the apartment building.

I noticed you also drew in a sidewalk around Wales/Leonard/Nassau/Bellevue block. Because of specifics of the editor you used, that change actually ended up reusing what in OSM is called an "address interpolation line", (this is the line that indicates where the housenumbers 46 to 68 Wales Avenue are without listing each house individually - osm.org/way/401215870). This is a problem because changing the length of the address interpolation line prevents calculation of where, for example, 60 Wales Avenue is. I have undone this in osm.org/changeset/66974871, deleting the sidewalk along the way.

I very much appreciate that it's nice to have a sidewalk added. However, sidewalks need to be part of the network. It is crucial that sidewalks connect to street crossings and other sidewalks, otherwise computers will not figure out how to use the sidewalks for walking directions. When calculating directions, it is better to not have a sidewalk at all than to have a poorly-connected one. In the city, the computers can just assume that minor streets have sidewalks unless otherwise indicated (that can be tagged with sidewalk=no or foot=no).

Please check out osm.wiki/Sidewalks section "Sidewalk as separate way" for guidelines on mapping sidewalks. I would suggest that it's generally best to start from streets that already have a sidewalk, and draw out from there, connecting the ways as you go, and trying to get complete coverage of a given block or super-block. In this area, if you are interested, I would suggest starting out from Bathurst or Dundas and getting all sidewalks on Nassau, Wales, Lippincott, etc connected to already existing sidewalks on Bellevue or Denison.

Thanks again for the contributions, and let me know if you have any questions or if I can help in any way.

Jarek

Many of the POIs were merged into already-existing ones, so the source for updates to those nodes/ways is the information from history of nodes deleted in this changeset. Sorry, this currently isn't very easy to find/browse on OSM.org.

I have done some very light checks and corrections, like retagging from amenity=hospital to amenity=clinic and checking a few stores online. I've also excluded stuff unlikely to be correct/useful like wheelchair-accessible toilets in banks...

Hi, Esri imagery clearly shows this is two-way at College Street. This was correct since 2007 until your change. Please revert it and add oneway=no with note to see imagery. Thanks.

Hi! Thanks for your updates to this area in OpenStreetMap. It's always great to see new contributors. Let us know if you need any assistance.

Small note: for Henry's barber osm.org/node/5154126018 we generally don't add addr:province, since that's very easy for the computer to determine.

If you'd have interest, it always helps to update or add stores and services, for example Avenue and Bathurst around here have more stores that are not mapped. It's much better and a bit easier for a local mapper to survey :)

Hi, Esri imagery indicates that osm.org/way/459126472 does not extend to join the path in Brookdale Park at its east end. Did the City source you've cited say that? It's a 404 now
