Changeset When Comment

Yes, so I'm trying to understand why you added only 3 of the six such edges visible at Cottage Way and Fulton Avenue. :-)

This link doesn't seem to go to anything relevant anymore. I looked up this changeset because of your use of road_marking=solid_crossing_edge -- if you remember more about what you were intending with that, I'd be glad to hear about it.

Why did you mark a motorway_link (osm.org/way/9038411 ) as bus=no in this changeset? According to the MBTA https://www.mbta.com/schedules/354/line?schedule_direction%5Bdirection_id%5D=0&schedule_direction%5Bvariant%5D=354-4-0 ) this is part of a bus route!

But, let me be clear -- I'm DELIGHTED to have other people working on MBTA bus routes! There's lots of work to do, and more hands are very welcome. If you are interested in doing more, I'd love to chat on the Discourse, or OSM US Slack, or just by email.

Please don't add ways to a route_master relation, as you did here. I'll fix it, but wanted to alert you. Thanks!

OK, this is such a messy route, and it's further confused by https://www.mbta.com/schedules/4/line?schedule_direction%5Bdirection_id%5D=0&schedule_direction%5Bvariant%5D=4-3-0 being inaccurate. If you look on the printed schedule https://cdn.mbta.com/sites/default/files/media/route_pdfs/batch_6374/4-S1-P3.pdf you can see the real route. I also got the name backwards, which I'll correct in the next changeset.

Per https://www.mbta.com/schedules/69/line?schedule_direction%5Bdirection_id%5D=0&schedule_direction%5Bvariant%5D=69-_-0

Still need to untangle the weird construction near Letchmere

Makes sense, thank you!

Created the wiki page (and osm.wiki/Tag:heritage:operator%3DBLfD as well). Thanks!

101343993 about 2 years ago

Excellent, glad I asked about it! It looks like osm.wiki/Key:ref:BLfD isn't documented yet, either. Do you have any details (like a link to where it comes from) that I could add to that page?

133380141 about 2 years ago

In this changeset, you added "ref:codcat=blu" to a trail. All the other uses of this seem to have been over in Columbia, South America, and have very different formatted values. Could you say more about what you meant by this use of the key?

101343993 about 2 years ago

In this changeset, you used the "ref:BRN" key for the file number for a historic house (Hengersberger Straße 11). That key was already used for a building import in Zanzibar, so it would probably be better to replace it with something more specific. Thanks for your work!

102755727 about 2 years ago

Note also osm.org/changeset/102756146 by the same user, which added two other buildings with this same mysterious ref:BRN=29B10112 . I think this was just a mistake, given that the rest of the uses of this key are as part of a " Zanzibar Buildings Import".

StreetComplete gives you the option of either submitting each point as you add it (presumably via cellular data) or auto-submitting once you get to a wifi network, or only submitting when you manually request it to. I recommend the auto-submit on wifi option, personally, but any one is fine.

Ah, no worries -- welcome to OSM! There are a lot of weird dark corners like this, but your work is still very much appreciated. And yeah, this is certainly a UX bug in StreetComplete; it's just that it's rare enough and hard enough to fix that it hasn't gotten done yet.

What the "bounding box" means is the box (in terms of geography) that covers all the changes sent in at the same time. You can see it on the website, here: osm.org/changeset/131907817

And the reason that very large ones make people (mildly) grumpy is that (due to another bug) changes show up in lists of edits as long as their bounding box includes the area being looked at -- so, for example, when I was looking at changes in Boston, MA, USA, I saw this change, even though nothing actually changed anywhere near here. Hope this explains it more!

Thanks for using StreetComplete, and I hope you enjoyed your flight from San Francisco to Denmark! As you might have noticed, because you didn't enter the changes you made in San Francisco until after your flight, Street Complete combined them, producing gigantic bounding boxes. Please try not to do that.
