Changeset When Comment

Created the wiki page (and osm.wiki/Tag:heritage:operator%3DBLfD as well). Thanks!

Excellent, glad I asked about it! It looks like osm.wiki/Key:ref:BLfD isn't documented yet, either. Do you have any details (like a link to where it comes from) that I could add to that page?

In this changeset, you added "ref:codcat=blu" to a trail. All the other uses of this seem to have been over in Columbia, South America, and have very different formatted values. Could you say more about what you meant by this use of the key?

In this changeset, you used the "ref:BRN" key for the file number for a historic house (Hengersberger Straße 11). That key was already used for a building import in Zanzibar, so it would probably be better to replace it with something more specific. Thanks for your work!

Note also osm.org/changeset/102756146 by the same user, which added two other buildings with this same mysterious ref:BRN=29B10112 . I think this was just a mistake, given that the rest of the uses of this key are as part of a " Zanzibar Buildings Import".

StreetComplete gives you the option of either submitting each point as you add it (presumably via cellular data) or auto-submitting once you get to a wifi network, or only submitting when you manually request it to. I recommend the auto-submit on wifi option, personally, but any one is fine.

Ah, no worries -- welcome to OSM! There are a lot of weird dark corners like this, but your work is still very much appreciated. And yeah, this is certainly a UX bug in StreetComplete; it's just that it's rare enough and hard enough to fix that it hasn't gotten done yet.

What the "bounding box" means is the box (in terms of geography) that covers all the changes sent in at the same time. You can see it on the website, here: osm.org/changeset/131907817

And the reason that very large ones make people (mildly) grumpy is that (due to another bug) changes show up in lists of edits as long as their bounding box includes the area being looked at -- so, for example, when I was looking at changes in Boston, MA, USA, I saw this change, even though nothing actually changed anywhere near here. Hope this explains it more!

Thanks for using StreetComplete, and I hope you enjoyed your flight from San Francisco to Denmark! As you might have noticed, because you didn't enter the changes you made in San Francisco until after your flight, Street Complete combined them, producing gigantic bounding boxes. Please try not to do that.

Yeah, locality might be better. I'll let you update it, if/when you see fit to do so.

It happens! Mostly just wanted to alert you in case it was a more wide-spread problem.

I assume the wikipedia=en:Bing link was a weird mistake? osm.org/way/300020046/history

The English Wikipedia entry mentioned doesn't exist (yet), and I'm having trouble finding confirmation of this as a distinct hamlet. Do you have some other sources for it?

Why did you create the relation joining the two Allen power plants? What information does that convey, especially given that one of the plants is disused? I noticed it because it appeared on the list of plants lacking a plant:source tag (which I'm trying to reduce the size of). Thanks in advance for any clarification (and thanks for working on power infra on OSM)!

Thanks for adding these! It's always good to see more power plant info on the map, including links to the EIA codes.

Note that you accidentally moved a power pole wildly out of position; I've fixed it now: osm.org/node/1744491741

Thanks, I think I've found the task now. Appreciate you getting back to me!

Makes sense! "perfumery" is a somewhat unusual word. I can't find a way to make that change using presets, either.

121702300 about 3 years ago

Thanks for adding these stores with Every Door (I love that tool, too.) I noticed that you added Yasmin Alsham as shop=perfume, not the more widely used shop=perfumery . When I checked the tool just now, it defaulted to perfumery -- did you manually change it, or is there a bug somewhere else?

Thanks, that's very helpful!

This changeset deleted carefully (and repeatedly) added ways, and lacked a clear changeset comment to explain how or why they were removed. Please don't do this again. Here's the changeset that fixed (some?) of the damage: osm.org/changeset/122067281
