I’ve spent a not insignificant amount of time over the past couple of days trying to figure out if the opening hours tag I did for a McDonald’s is correct or not. 🕒
Based on the rules in the wiki it should be. Based on tools I found online it should be. But when I look at it in OSMAnd it reports the fallback rule, not the primary rule, despite the primary rule applying…
It would be easier to know if I made a mistake, and what mistake I might have made, if I could find real world examples of more complicated opening hours tags. I’ve never seen anything tagged more complicated than different opening and closings each day of the week!
If I can’t even get something as simple as “These rules, but if these rules don’t apply then check the next rules” right it’s going to make things complicated. I could tweak the times, but it shouldn’t be necessary.
Very frustrating. It’ll be more frustrating (but also a bit vindicating) if the problem is with the OSMAnd app lol since I’ve spent so much time researching.
Maybe the simplest research would be into what my password is for the Washington State Slack. I’m sure there’s someone out there with a knack for this.
(for anyone interested, the tag is as follows, and should evaluate to show that it is drive thru only only when the previois rules don’t apply:)
Mo-Th 05:30-23:00 open "Lobby and Drive Thru"; Fr-Sa 06:00-24:00 open "Lobby and Drive Thru"; Su 06:00-23:15 open "Lobby and Drive Thru" || 00:00-24:00 open "Drive Thru Only"
Feel free to throw me a life preserver if you have answers and time.

I believe you can have a separate opening_hours tag for drive-through as
opening_hours:drive_through=00:00-24:00
To reset your Slack password just go to https://osmus.slack.com/
Hope to see you on Slack.

It could also be a bug in OsmAnd, see e.g.: https://github.com/osmandapp/Osmand/issues/3060 https://github.com/osmandapp/Osmand/issues/5137
