Hi Bassington, welcome to OpenStreetMap!
Your intention is welcomed, but copying from copyrighted maps is not allowed unless you have permission.

Unfortunately, because that road alignment is so new, none of the aerial imagery available to us nor OS OpenMap Local shows it yet, so you'd need to survey it yourself e.g. with GPS.

In the mean time, unless you can clarify what you have surveyed so far, I think it might be safest if this changeset was reverted so that any further changes are not tainted by this edit.
Kind Regards,
Jez

Hi ZhaoqingMal, welcome to OpenStreetMap!
Can I draw your attention to the squaring tool (shortcut "Q") which causes the corners of areas to be at right-angles.
Happy mapping,

Oh, the ID walkthrough must've changed: that makes sense because I saw the same issue with another new contributor on Sunday.
Thanks for letting me know and for the corrections!

Wow, you must have some pretty nifty equipment to get centimetre accuracy for building/roof heights! (I'm guessing you're a professional?)
Specifically on the Academy, did you survey the separate parts of the building? If so - or even if not - you could use the building:part=yes tag on a separate area, to indicate the heights on only that section with the skillion roof shape.

Hi oldguit, welcome to OpenStreetMap!
I noticed you moved the corners of two buildings here which has resulted in the walls not being right-angles. I encourage you to continue the ID editor walkthrough which explains about squaring buildings (shortcut "Q")

Hi nathank096, welcome to OpenStreetMap! I encourage you to continue the ID editor walkthough, particularly the section on squaring buildings (shortcut "Q")

Hi mkroberts1954,
By deleting the existing seamarks and replacing them, you've removed the fog horns that were mapped - do you know where they are now?
I also note your addition of yellow lights to *ALL* the turbines instead of just the four corner ones as before - seems unlikely to me but perhaps you have other information?
Regards,
Jez

Hi Ken. There's no need to delete the whole thing, in fact editing existing objects is preferred in order to keep histories.
Yes you'd need to edit each line separately. (Note: It's quite common for streets to be split into segments for various reasons, here simply because of the shape).
There's no need to apologise - it's good to have your local knowledge. Be bold!

Thank you for your quick response. Looks good!

Hi KenH-S, welcome to OpenStreetMap!
I see you requested a review: the information you've added is useful, but would be better added to the line of the street instead of one point. Just let me know if I can be of help. I've got ideas for other improvements needed around this area too, but I don't visit Guisborough that often.
Happy mapping :)

Hi mot_tom,
Just wondering why you've deleted a residential street in Stillington: way 720142240? Both Maxar and Esri World imagery clearly show houses being constructed here.

Hi pravalg, on the latest aerial imagery here (Esri World) the two highways you've added no longer exist - it looks to me like they were only temporary during the construction.

Hi lordmirg, welcome to OSM!
I see you requested a review and your edit looks good. Hard to believe that no-one had spotted the incorrect name before now!
Happy mapping :)

Hi Dan, welcome to OSM!
I see you've requested a review - you've made a great start with tracing the buildings but there are a couple more steps to refine the outlines:
1) 'Squaring' (shortcut: Q) each building to make the corners right-angles.
2) Move (shortcut: M) each outline to ground floor level.
Happy mapping :)

Hi TeessideMapper,
What on-the-ground evidence is there that 'Hartwell' exists as a suburb, and a suburb of where? I'm sure you're aware the wikipedia page for Hartwell was deleted due to lack of notability - and was subject to much edit-warring over naming prior to deletion - whereas most other areas of Stockton-on-Tees still retain their wiki pages. I note the later anonymous edit to the Hartburn wiki page to claim that Hartwell is part of Hartburn (a suburb of a suburb?) but named Queensgate, though what about Low Hartburn in between?
I hope you can clarify the situation.
Kind regards,
Jez

Ahh, I didn't realise there was other options like addr:village because the wiki only mentions addr:city for the place name. Thanks.

83380027 over 5 years ago

Hi CjMalone,
addr:city=Saltburn ??? I'm assuming OSM copies RM's 'post towns' for addr:city fields? I know I'm relatively new to the project, but it seems to me that just because a private company uses a town 10 miles away for its address database doesn't mean OSM should be following their format, though I'm happy to be corrected if that is the agreed method.
Happy mapping,
Jez

Hi Joe E, thank you for adding/amending these routes. For your info, the Transpennine at Redcar Central both arrives at AND departs from platform 2. (Between arrival/departure it shunts into the goods line behind Morrisons to let the Northern service to Saltburn past).
Keep up the good work!

Hi MacLondon, Stagecarriage went out of business last year so this route no longer exists. NB. Many bus relations in Teesside are out-of-date due to annual route changes by the current operators and lack of mappers + lack of motivation to redraw them all every time!

Hi Wibblejunior, thank you for adding the X93 route to OSM. I have a query though - when I travelled on this route last summer it went through Aislaby. Is it missing out Aislaby now?
Kind regards,
Jez
