A tag I used when importing data from PICC and forgot to remove before pushing to OSM. Thanks for pointing that and removing it

Hello,

I mainly add this for two reasons. First, I hope it improves geocoding for applications using OSM. Second, most buildings where I mainly edit and use OSM (Namur) do have the postcode and the city on most buildings.

After reading your comment I found that buildings in Mons do not have city and postcode on them. This makes sense with your question.

I add the postcode and the city on the building instead of creating/fixing surrounding limits because I get the data from https://geoportail.wallonie.be which provides address points and not administrative boundaries.

If you know for sure that adding this information won't help any application or goes against some OSM principle, I won't add it in the future.

If you are concerned by having two changesets (one for adding buildings from PICC and on for adding the city and postcode), I can do it all in one changeset.

If there are guidelines on how to map addresses on buildings (I couldn't find any), let me know.

For the "Rue de l'Église" question, when I add addresses from https://geoportail.wallonie.be, if the existing name of the street or on building matches the data I import, I keep it that way. If the two differ, I use Bpost's address validator to break ties and street level imagery from Mapillary if available. When I can't break ties, I leave as it is.

Thanks for your feedback. The question makes sense as there does not seem to be global guidelines for Belgium on the subject.

Keep me posted on what you think is best for addresses on buildings (and why you think that way).

Hi! It's indeed a typo and the correction is appropriate. I saw that you also corrected two other building:part in another changeset.
I added a validation check in my JOSM to avoid this specific typo in the future.
Thanks for the review

Hi, good catch! I did not modify the tags however, a previous mapper added the horse_riding tag. I just disconnected some nodes of the way from osm.org/way/561528789 to avoid the landuse=residential to cross buildings.

The wiki is quite clear on the subject and from aerial images, it looks like a leisure=pitch + sport=equestrian. I updated the tags in osm.org/changeset/126279263

Hi,
Indeed, those objects should never have made it to OSM's servers. They are part of the raw data I used to draw the buildings.
The objects have been removed in osm.org/changeset/125456380
Thanks for the feedback

Hi,
Thanks for the feedback, those are tags from the PICC shapefiles. I forgot to remove them before submitting the changes.
I just removed them in osm.org/changeset/110170163
