147346578 | ier 23 de jorns | I don't know if your bot can spot this, but Native American reservations in both OSM and Wikidata commonly conflate the concept of people (i.e., Cahuilla Band of Indians) with tribal lands (i.e., Cahuilla Reservation). The bot fixed the redirect, but not the conflation. Maybe check if the Wikidata entry is an instance of Q7840353 or Q5398059? |

151794682 | fa près de 5 de mes | Hey Habi! It's common practice "around here" to include tracktype on highways that are not paved, especially since there are plenty of "significant" highways that are just graded or unmaintained. Maybe a little different from Switzerland! I'll put the tag back. Glad you made it down the road in your RV! |
145270795 | fa près de 5 de mes | Nice work on the alignment of Quackenbush Mine Road! |
151794682 | fa près de 5 de mes | Hi! Could I ask what made you remove the tracktype=grade2 tag from Mosaic Canyon Road? Would you suggest a different value for that tag or was it correct? |
125964044 | fa près de 7 de mes | I did notice the sign, although the fraction didn't catch my eye. I suppose Caltrans is just waiting until they have a reason to replace it. |
125964044 | fa près de 7 de mes | Sounds good. |
125964044 | fa près de 7 de mes | I see. You can compare heights with the sign across the road. The sign was tall enough that it wouldn't have been buried by that snowbank, so it was clearly gone as of 2023. |
125964044 | fa près de 7 de mes | Would you happen to remember where you found the name for this turn-off? I think it may be due for an update, but I couldn't find any signage in street level imagery. |
142077533 | fa près de 8 de mes | I decided to keep Greybull as the primary name and add Roach Gulch as the alt name to align with NID. We'll have to see what GNIS says. I suspect they'll want someone to make an official name submission rather than picking up the name from another government organization. |
142077533 | fa près de 8 de mes | Oops. "Roach Gulch Reservoir" |
142077533 | fa près de 8 de mes | I think this may be the "Roach Valley Reservoir" or that's possibly an alternative name. https://greybullvalleyid.com/reservoir-levels/ |
157690119 | fa près de 10 de mes | I feel like this changeset needs a little more explanation than would have fit in the comment. The roads in Mesquite Valley have conflicting names in different sources. Where possible, I tried to reconcile BLM, San Bernardino County road centerline data, and San Bernardino County assessor maps. Unfortunately, there's not much street-level imagery here. And what imagery I could find didn't have any signage. In some cases roads ended up with one or two alt_name values where the different sources didn't agree. The assessor maps aren't even consistent with one another! This was a best effort to try to make things consistent, but corrections supported by on-the-ground data or sources that reconcile the inconsistencies would be welcome! |
148532601 | fa près de 10 de mes | Done. I recognize your avatar pic, by the way. Nice choice! |
148532601 | fa près de 11 de mes | Ah! So Dorner's camp is probably access=private. And the same for all the connecting trails. Makes sense. Thanks! |
148532601 | fa près de 11 de mes | Thanks for updating the access conditions around Granite Pass! I haven't been able to get there myself, so I'm curious about a couple of things. You've been there? Are the gates signed no trespassing or no public entry? Or are the roads just closed to vehicle traffic so you could hike in? |
149281180 | fa près de 11 de mes | Great! Keep up the good mapping! |
149281180 | fa près de 11 de mes | Hi! It's great that you're mapping lots of features out in the desert. There are a lot of things out there that still need to be mapped. But when you're mapping in Wilderness areas, please add access conditions so that routers don't direct vehicles into these areas. I like disused:highway=track + highway=path + bicycle=no, but you could also use highway=track + motor_vehicle=no + bicycle= no for cases like this. |
155106353 | fa près de 12 de mes | Judging from the changeset, you're asking about Swansea Grade? If so, I wouldn't try that without a high-clearance 4WD vehicle. The Cerro Gordo Road from Keeler is more civilized. But it's been washed out and rebuilt a couple of times since I last saw it. Used to be a 2WD vehicle could make it up that way, but I don't know what the current conditions are like. |
