No problem - happy to be corrected.

Apologies - the source should have included OpenAerialMap by Kontur.io. There were only a couple of roads marked as destroyed as imagery shows road to be washed out

Hi
Thank you for the feedback. I will be sure avoid the use unclassified roads.
Thank you again :-)

Hi there
Generally if the track provides some sort of connectivity between either major roads or buildings I would tag as 'unclassified'. If it is purely a track to farmlands, forestry I would tag as 'track'.
If this is incorrect, I'm happy to revert my change sets to track and use that going forward.
Thank you for your question BR.
Kind regards
Kathy

Agreed - I had changed a couple of the road classifications but missed this one from the original mapper.

Hi Andy
I don't recall why I put a Google Maps tag on it, as I would have mapped from the imagery (Digital Globe).

Sorry that's not much help.

Kathy

Hi Mebrau
I tagged this as canals based on their purpose being that of irrigation, and where a stream had been purposefully directed to follow a certain course. In many cases the size of the natural stream had also been altered to flow between fields.

Hi - thanks for picking this up. I mean private. Regards, Kathy

Thanks for your contribution. Try and remember to square off your buildings - make sure they are the same size as the imagery.

Try not to let your buildings 'snap' together. You can prevent this by holding down the 'Alt' key when mapping.

Try and remember to square off your buildings using the 'Q' key. You can prevent nodes snapping together by holding down the 'Alt' key when mapping.

Thanks for your efforts. It can be difficult to work out what is a building. Many of the things you had mapped in this project were not buildings. It would be unusual to see a fountain on the side of a road, so think about context of where you are mapping. Try and remember to square off your buildings.

Hi rab
Thanks for the comment. There were a lot of things wrong about this tile when I opened it for validation. I can see what you mean about the smaller buildings. The project imagery is the Maxar imagery.

@martinairmaps If you have a look at the changeset - there are buildings east of the main road that were missing.

Hi martinairmaps

Here is the link to the changeset:
osm.org/changeset/70622891#map=19/-12.98972/40.52754
There were some buildings in the bottom right hand corner that were missing. Otherwise great work!

@rab - I don't understand what you are saying. The tagging guide osm.wiki/HighwayTagAfrica indicates that tracks do not having a connector function, and primarily used in agricultural/forestry areas. I imagine they would logging tracks, or tractor paths. The roads in this task seem to connect hamlets/residential dwellings, which would make them unclassified/residential.

I'm happy to give it a go. I also see the main roads as not aligned to Bing imagery Is that what you also see?

How do I reinstate the previous version?
