Norfolk Broads

Zapsal KevK 2. 1. 2009 v jazyce English.

The local broad (lake in other parts) called Martham Broad was missing so I have added it this morning together with the navigable channel that passes between the two bodies of water and the boat dyke where I have been known to launch my kayak from that is at the end of this navigable stretch of the River Thurne. A beautiful area at this time of year especially when you get it all to yourself.

I also re-plotted Horsey Mere, another body of water to the north and again the navigation channel that feeds it. I also needed to shift Horsey windpump as it had been plotted in the wrong spot by a hundred metres or so which put it the wrong side of the river.

I certainly envy you! I've visited the broads a couple of times to sail, and it's one of my favourite places. It was pretty busy when I visited, having it to yourself must be great!

Nice job! The Broads are indeed a really beautiful place at this time of the year, I've been out on them quite a bit over the Christmas break.

I've been working on the River Ant and the surrounding area over the fortnight. It seems large parts of the Broads are either poorly mapped (Hoveton/Wroxham being one prime example) or not mapped at all. I'm shortly returning to Scotland so the mapping I can do of this area is limited.
