No worries, we're volunteers so no pressure re: finding the time! I've just selected area=yes, just because I didn't want to start an edit war - so I've just gone with the most generic form. You've got more experience than me when it comes to tagging, so I'm happy to accept what you think is best, especially since even though it's agreed not to call it a car park, there's nothing on what it should be called! My personal preference is to tag in such a way that is clear for major OSM-based map apps, such as OsmAnd. If I come across anything in the meantime I'll let you know or drop an edit. Cheers :)

Sorry, I disagree with your modification of Kendal Honda's forecourt (way 1360118889). It's not a car park, it's a court where they park Honda cars as a sort of show room. I did research on this on how to tag it, and the consensus was not to tag this as a car park, as users shouldn't be misled to think that it's a place where they can park: https://community.openstreetmap.org/t/car-dealership-car-parks/93535
