OSM API 0.5 DTD

English.

There seems to be an error in one of the 0.5 API DTD's. The full-DTD-page says that a relation may have 0 or more tags or members, while the actual DTD on http://dev.openstreetmap.org/~kleptog/osm-0.5.dtd says that there should be at least one tag or member. I suppose that the former option is true if I read through other explanations.

So, if someone can confirm this, this can be cleaned up before version 0.6 maybe :).

Kind regards,

Michel

gpx-upload succeeded (Norway)

English.

Hello,

all the tracks from my journey to Norway are uploaded. The problem with 2 of the gpx-files were that they had "%20" in their filenames. I suppose the '%'-sign is what is causing the trouble.

I also added some POI's for Norway, Normandy, Belgium, Germany, ... which I had stored in the POI-database of Maemo-mapper. Some examples maybe ...: Preikestolen (Norway), Pointe du hoc (Currently it is listed as Pointe de Hoc. Have to ceck it on a picture that I have and correct it if needed), Hotel in Germany, Ibis val druel-hotel in France, ...

Still more POI's to be uploaded normally ...

Greetings,

Michel

Journey to Norway from Belgium

English.

Hello,

I'm just back from a journey to Norway by car. I collected some gps-tracklogs and waypoints while travelling.

Unfortunately, I don't have tracklogs of the complete route, but from big parts in Norway anyway. It also seems to some big parts aren't present on the map yet.

If you see big holes in the gps-tracks, they are probably tunnels. One of them should be ~24 km long (longest tunnel in Europe or so I think).

I uploaded the tracklogs for Copenhagen (walking), travelling around Odda to the area around Gaupne and "to" the Hardangervidda (walking). I also have waypoints that point to a starting-point and a route to get on the DNT-walking-network in the Hardangervidda.

I'm haveing trouble however uploading gpx-tracklogs for my journey from Oslo to Odda (a route that isn't present on the map yet) and the Hardangervidda-route. Both load fine in josm. We had to skip a tunnel however and take a mountainpass (very nice) because of roadworks or so. Anyway, the import of th tracklog fails ... Here is the error that I get:

Hi,

It looks like your GPX file

  Kopenhagen_tot_odda_camping.gpx

failed to import. Here's the error:

highly details aerial-pictures of my province (and others)

English.

Hello,

I was looking around for aerial pictures of my area because the yahoo-pictures ar enot usefull for my area.

I found highly detailed pictures of my province (Limburg) and also for another province (Oost-Vlaanderen). The link to he pictures for Limburg are here: http://www.limburg.be/giskaarten/frameset.html?../navigatielinks.html&../navigatie.html&index.html

GIS-Vlaanderen has aerial pictures of all the provinces I believe, but I prefer the ones from the site for my province specifically. They have more detail for where I looked (or seem to be clearer).

The nice thing about the pictures on the Liburg-site is the following text at the bottom of the page:

Gebruiksvoorwaarden (terms of usage):

* Digitale geografische gegevens hebben geen juridische waarde en kunnen in geen enkel geval beschouwd worden als officiële reproductie van originele en analoge juridische documenten.
--> The geograhpic data has no value in terms of the law.
--> No guarantuees regarding correctness and completeness (little les s nice, but I suppose ... they are quite ok). We have the source-tag in osm ...
Verdere informatie kan u bekomen via e-mail: gis@limburg.be.
---> (the nice thing) You have the right to consult the maps and to download them for personal use. For reproduction, you need aproval. For more info contaxt gis@limburg.be.

password-issue resolved. Thanks!

English.

Hello,

my password-issue has been resolved. I can login again. Thanks to TomH for taking the time to help me.

For the interested people ... it was a bug in the http-authentication-parsing-code.

Thank you once again. I uploaded the data that was awaiting upload. So, the town Maasmechelen (Belgium) will shortly have more details.

Thank you and greetings,

Michel

resetting osm(mapdata)-password

English.

Hello,

I requested it already on IRC, but I am posting it now on my userdiary in the hope to show some persons that there is a need for this ...

Since the migration to the new server (and maybe earlier ...), I can't login anymore to upload osm-data using josm (I tried multiple times). My password is wrong. However, I have a useraccount ..., but can't reset it. Some people on IRC (sorry don't know the names anymore) already assisted me by adding the account-reset-patch to the associated bug and submitting the patch in svn.

However, I'm already waiting quite some time for this patch to become active.

So, I'm now already waiting quite some time to upload osmdata-changes, but I can't, because I don't know my password anymore/change in server/can't reset password.

So, hereby I would like to ask to make the reset-account-patch in svn active please. This way I can submit changes to the mapdata again hoepfully. They are waiting on my computer in an osm-file :).

Thank you and greetings,

Michel

traces traces traces

English.

Heya,

well. This is a bit of a testpost. I still have a lot of traces to upload and I probably should also do some map-editing.
I just had a trip to France where I made traces. I used the nokia N800 with maemo-mapper to create the traces. I also have the navicore-software for the N800. Unfortunately it isn't possible to run both at the same time ... I don't see why it wouldn't be possible. Gpsd (if they both use it ...) should be able to distribute the gps-data among multiple clients. So, I suppose that at least one of the apps connects directly to the bluetooth gps-receiver. Anyway, I still mapped the complete way back (from Mont Saint-Michel - Normandy to Maasmechelen). I also have traces of other places from the small trip to the France.

Greetings,

Michel
