In exploring my own neighborhood, I made the discovery that in addition the named playgrounds that appear on most maps (including Google Maps), there’s a few small playgrounds, situated in the open voids between houses backyards. I found these and mapped them after taking my girls to go play there:

From the aerial photographs, it looks like there’s more in the neighborhood, so now I’ll have to go exploring!

I found a hidden park that i did not even know existed that linked up to one of the local parks via a bike trail that was not mapped i needles to say mapped it.

Thanks, you don’t realize how important those are until you become a parent. Go map playgrounds ! :)

It also made me note that those hidden playgrounds are the ones with grass overrunning the sandbox, and other equipment in dire need of repair. If there are playgrounds that are unnamed and unmapped, I bet they get passed over for funding and maintenance as well, which is another good reason to get them mapped!
