Hi Adam - I'm disappointed to see you pulled these without any discussion. Choosing heath was a deliberate decision based on the OSM definition of a heath, specifically: "The tag natural=heath can be applied to any similar habitat worldwide with dwarf shrubs."

While obviously there is no heather out in the Great Basin, the sagebrush steppe of eastern Oregon is an excellent parallel as far as vegetation type. (Contrast that with the OSM Desert tag, "A desert is a barren area of land or desolate terrain, especially one with little water or vegetation. This tag is consistently used to show salt pans, dry lake-beds, and other large, flat, barren land surfaces." One would struggle to call the valleys of southeast Oregon barren when they are covered in plant life, even if those plants are the humble sagebrush.)

I think you should reconsider this and similar edits.

The region is defined by an alluvial fan dominated by well-rounded rocks. Given its origin as alluvium and consistency as shingle, this seemed like an appropriate mapping.

Thanks BubbaJuice. The areas in those "wood" polygons are juniper-piñon forest, so I'd have a hard time accepting that as downgrading to scrub (which is definitely true of downslope areas). The polygons could probably be cleaner.

The Bend Parkway portion of US 97 has two RIROs, both of which are marked with exit signs. The other interchanges also have exit numbers.

This seems like a very, very, very broad heath. I get the general philosophy of desert scrubland as heath (although I tend to think of the thicker sagebrush flora of the Great Basin and Colorado Plateau as more heath than the thinner creosote and yucca scrub of the Mojave) but clearly this large designation encompasses many areas that do not qualify as heaths.

Hi there - Not saying you're wrong but I think there's room for discussion on whether the proper name for mapping reservations is to use the reservation name or the sovereign nation's name. Particularly in the case of Confederated tribes, it seems as though indicating that the land is sovereign territory of a confederation of tribes (rather than one colonially-fabricated "Warm Springs reservation") might be worth considering?
