In US copyright law you can't copyright facts... If you wanted to avoid using the maps then there's a page for every bus route that lists every stop.

I'm 4 years late but the source of bus routes can be found here if you're up to the challenge of updating them. I'm a bit more seasoned of a mapper now, but bus relations still scare me to death.

What does this changeset comment mean?

Please don't tag random isolated sections of road in Mississippi as trunk. We've spent an immense amount of effort trying to update the trunk classification throughout the state. Please see osm.wiki/Mississippi/Mississippi_Highways

Hello Matthew. Just a tip for mapping roads on OpenStreetMap, you should only use separate ways for roads that have physical separation. Things like medians or jersey barriers. If you want to indicate individual lanes, there are guides on the wiki for tagging those on a way.

You randomly removed the service road that leads to the Emergency Room of a hospital. Why?

Honestly, it's an edge case but it's probably fine that the bridge is a motorway.

109049155 almost 4 years ago

I don't see how the causeway can be considered a motorway. No shoulders, 55 mph speed limits, regularly closed due to fog and weather, drawbridges, regular crossovers. I think the only thing it has going for it is that it's limited access, and that's only because you can't exactly turn off of it without landing in the deadly deadly lake around it.

Oh I see, someone changed half the bridge to motorway and you just completed that.... I think it probably should be changed entirely back to trunk again.

I'd like to inquire why you've changed US 98 and US 45 from trunk to primary?

Why have you changed all these roads to highway=living_street. None of these rural roads are living streets, and living streets are very rare in the US.

You mention you've used the University of Southern Mississippi's campus map as a source for multiple changesets. That map is likely copyrighted, and if you didn't get permission to use this map directly from USM then your changes may have to be reverted/redacted.

This changeset area is 2 big. I'm scared. 😱

"OPENRAILWAYMAP FEATURE - DO NOT REMOVE"

Does anything related to this feature even exist anymore? an embankment or the like? If not, then this should not be in OSM. OSM is for mapping what's on the ground.... if it doesn't exist anymore it shouldn't be in OSM and should be instead in some place like OpenHistoricalMap

PS: Try to avoid gluing your landcover to roads. I know it's really easy to accidentally do that in iD, just keep in mind that gluing them to roads can make things hard to edit.

Hey Weatherman1228. I just wanted to let you know, while I really appreciate you taking the time to add landcover to the De Soto National Forest, it's generally considered bad practice to make landcover tags cross roadways.... especially secondary and primary roads. osm.org/way/914739411
I recommend you cut this one in half so it doesn't cross Larue Road and Wire road. On the parts that cross MS-15, I'll be fixing those presently as I'm working on upgrading 2 digit MS Highways to Primary.

Welcome to OSM! I'd like to let you know that you should be using detailed changeset comments to explain what you've changed.

Also, "Starbase, Texas" has not been incorporated, and therefore this changeset was reverted by another mapper. Please refrain from making unsourced changes to the map.

Oh I also changed a couple roads to Tertiary north of Laurel.
