I'm Mike Hicks. I've contributed to Wikipedia and other sites for many years. I've used Google Maps' "My Maps" feature for a long time for a lot of things, and tried getting into editing their underlying map with "Map Maker" in 2011, but their interface was far too clunky for me. OSM is much easier to use and has more favorable licensing terms, so I'm happy to contribute here instead.
